With so many average players, we were in two cup finals. Signing four good players is going to make some difference.
Maureen and Klopp won titles before their disaster seasons. If Klopp wants to win us the title a couple of times before flirting with relegation for half a season then I'll take it. Besides, after he left Dortmund and losing key players....the spine he left at Dortmund are back at the top again.
Klopp doesn't suffer fools! We walked away from the Alex Texmex deal when they dicked us about.. He's said all along, we may have money to compete for any/most players but he wants to see their desire to come play for us/him. Karius passed that test.. Gotze didn't fail, he just wants to stay and fight for his place, gotta admire that! Zelinski, if he wants the move, then he'll need to tell his Agent to stop being a twat.
a lot of players(and agents) will be twats though esp when we have all the comps in the summer, a lot of them will think if i have a good tournament i will get a good move. of course downside to that is if a club is interested before comp and they dont move, they will move on to other targets pretty quickly and ship might have sailed by then, esp if they then have a ****e tournament.
Think this transfer window will be carnage due to the agents and TV money. Probably get some quality players not getting a big move to the club they want so end up settling for a team like Stoke.
Well, we've 3 players in already, 2 will most likely be first team player... We need a LB an CM to play alongside Can and a Pacey Winger, a striker is not a priority, will be if/when Benteke leaves.. -------------- Karius -- Clyne - Lovern - Matip - LB ------------ Can - DCM -- Winger/AM - Firmino - Coutinho ----------- Sturridge/Origi DCM, LB are key! Going forward we've been OK, will be more so if Firmino and Coutinho are more consistent! A pacey tricky winger is also an important acquisition, other than Sturridge/Origi we don't have much pace up front!
Mascherano being linked to Juve. Id take him in a heartbeat. Still a brilliant midfielder and just what we need.
Agreed, a perfect foil for Can... But can't see that happening, the lure of playing for another European giant that is in contention to win their league and go deep in the CL is going to be too much, should he leave Barca..
I agree we need to also see that without europa a smaller squad is ok and there will be a bigger cull than we expect.

You can add Markovic, Allen to the list of out going players.. Flanno will be eased back in so likely to have Gomez backup Clyne (should he have no issues coming back from his long lay off too!) Sakho could be a goner, esp. if he gets a 2 year ban, Sule? won't count any player until signed, same goes for Hector and Chilwell. Hendo could be a shock sale, esp. if Klopp gets a player he thinks can work with Can better, Milner may not be a regular starter Lallana will most likely occupy the bench too should we get that quick/tricky winger/AM we need! Players coming in MUST be BETTER than who we have already!
Don't see it that way mate. And I still don't see Klopp spending this amount of money because he can, 3 signings so far for less than 10m 2 which will hopefully transform the team for the better in the long run (may not happen right away) for less than 5m Henrick was quality but not a worldie before joined Dortmund Obama-Yang was also quality, again, not a worldie before he joined Dortmund.. They both are now, some of that in part is due to Klopp! (must admit Tuchel has developed them too..)
thats very fair. I would agree that he doesn't need to do a mad fee like that. I am just trying to find one example where he competed for a player. I think yes 9.7million for 3 players... one good expereinced on a free and two young players is quite good and what we would expect. I agree the long run is the key. aubameyang started out on wing for dortmund before moving up after lewandowski went... it takes time. so yeah, 10 klopp style players in and about 30 out in total including u21s is not impossible at all. but it will take another year to really get everyone up to speed.
