I suspect that if Koeman signs a new contract it will have break clauses but even so, it would be encouraging.
Sounding very positive to me on two fronts: 1. RK liking the boards vision and looking likely to sign an extension 2. If RK is happy with this summers transfer plan then so am I
Not sure what anyone else got, but all I got was he's off to Everton. * . *wind-up kept on my own board
The Clyne contract situation never reached the stage with lawyers and agents. If Les and Ron's agent are meeting this week he would have agreed in principal to terms on a new one and agreed with the direction of the club etc. Looking good.
Jeez, would it be better if there was no video and no news update from Les.? This is from THE source, it is free from speculation and interpretation from newsmeda, and because there's little to report, it's sadly almost free from the detail we want to hear. But personally I take this video news very well. We're getting down to the nitty-gritty, of which there is nothing to say, as yet. Don't worry there's enough there for the media to develop BS from. Or if they can't they'll just ignore it and invent their own.
They're probably just as sick of the "Koeman may be going to Everton," crap that the press has been spouting as we are.
Yup, the nub of this comes down to the nature of the man. Clyne was probably hedging, Pochettino was waiting for a better offer. I think if RK decided against signing an extention then he would just tell Les. It's still possible for this to not happen but it sounds like it's just down to the haggling now. Now, where did I put those sandals?
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ronald-koeman-snub-everton-sign-8042506? Can't be a game on this week Mirror posting a positive article.
They mention that RK was stalling on a contract...no one knows that for certain. May be true, but he has always seemed happy here. The Everton job is a red herring as he has always said he would stay next season....and anyway, has Everton approached him? All supposition. Interesting that they mention Stek may be staying....makes sense, but we'll have to wait on that as well.
I have always felt that was the most likely scenario...can't see Ron signing a 3 or 5 year deal. Happy to be proved wrong of course (be a new experience for me).
