I know you're mostly just trying to get a rise out of me here, but I'd quite like to see the report that the DM mentions and read it for myself, which in a way is the opposite of me putting my head in the sand.

    ............. another nugget

    https://fullfact.org/europe/our-eu-membership-fee-55-million/

So overall in 2015 we paid in £8.5 billion more than we got back, or £23 million a day

We are told that we have an NHS in crisis, our road network is a disgrace, we have a Government enforcing cut after cut (take not comrade JK), yet we pay in to the EU £161 million a week more than we get back.

How many new hospitals, doctors, nurses etc. etc. would £ 8.5 BILLION a year pay for ?

Yes, purely looking at raw, net, overall figures, it's fairly common knowledge that we put in more £s than we get out (that link notes however that the net loss calculation has been reduced a few times during the Brexit campaign, most recently from £55mil per day to the £23mil per day that you mention - plus it doesn't include private sector rebates, which would further reduce that figure).

You mention the NHS being in crisis, but you're looking at it as if some of that £8.5bn being invested in the NHS would be significant in solving its crisis. The 'saving' by leaving the EU would barely make a dent in the NHS debt pool, but it would stop significant funding to the NHS from the EU to fund health projects and medical research (which obviously brings its own non-financial implications of not being at the top of our game in terms of research). The UK would have to pick up that slack with the 'saving', before even addressing the debt.

Yes, we pay more than we get back overall purely in overall monetary terms, but it's not as black and white as you are presenting it, KIO.

It's more likely to happen if we stay in.....as the country will want people 'in charge' that will challenge the EU rather than just nod and stick their fingers in the pie.

Funny that there are no such complaints about the even less democratic nature of our own system... Makes you wonder whether this is actually a reason or just a convenient excuse.

Which emphasises my point. I'd rather a self-serving elite a long way away letting us mind our own business, than the current self-serving elite rooted in Westminster

More games from those with a vested interest. Stick the BBC and other media/press outlets in there and as KIO says the State sponsored leaflets and this is the poppiest of cock!

It's interesting how gullible people are from both sides of the fence!

The thing that nails it for me is the fact that Camoron is preaching remain, definitely brexit for me!

Based on that logic, you're more of a fan of Putin, Farage and Boris, eh Dave?

It's not so much who the review is by, it could be done by woodland fairies for all I care, it is more that everyone who is publicising any findings is doing so to suit their view of whether we should remain or not. The papers and their associated websites may have had a to this point brexit favoured slant according to their interpretation of the papers, but to say the press in general have when the single most influencial press organisation in the UK, the BBC has continually favoured the stay campaign is a little misleading, would you not agree?

    Bah!

Honestly matey, I can't say I can. Brexiters say the BBC is biased in favour of remain, and Remainers say it's the other way around.

I try to ignore statements of "Oh, 'X' is biased in such and such a way" unless there's at least a bit of analysis to back it up.
