Final word from me on this nonsense. Beckham is 36 years old, for God's sake. What has he done, that's worthwhile, to even be considered for a knighthood?? Unless they are suddenly going to start handing out gongs for services to ostentation, self promotion, and general poor taste - not to mention his single handed attempts to destroy the English language. I suppose we should not be surprised if it does happen. But, for me, it would just be a further devaluation of what, not so long ago, was a special award of recognition for outstanding service to the country.
