Took a while, still not 100% though don't think I've been so down after a game ever but it was very much down to mini luv crying after the game he was so disappointed and I couldn't defend the lazy ****ers and explain that sometimes no matter how hard you try it doesn't go your way and that you have to pick yourself up and try again. All that would have been nonsense, I had no words.

ah well... it'll stand the the lad.

You can't beat a bit of disappointment to make you grow up stronger.

It's like when you trash them at scrabble or trip them up so they skin their knees.... or make sure they fall off a bike a few times.

YOu can only try your best after all... sometimes someone else just is better.... and with a tall lump in n'zonzi they were better...

It can be heartbreaking to see your little 'uns cry, but in this case it's good practice.

    Stating the bleeding obvious...
Gotze stays at Bayern, works his way back into the side, regains form and everything ends well for him...
Gotze stays at Bayern, can't break back into side, sulks around and then starts sending out "come and get me pleas" to us and other teams for the Jan window..

If the later, then, if we're still interested...
Do we take a punt on a bloke that's hardly kicked a ball since the World Cup (as in not been a regular starter..)
Or is it a case, you rejected us when we wanted you, now you've made your bed, lay in it!

The fact he wants to stay and fight for his place, I admire that, even with me being "slightly" biased towards Liverpool, I can see that as being the right decision, who would want to leave Bayern right now?
But given the signings they've already made does he get into their first 11? I don't think so... could be another long season the bench for the lad...
Either way, good luck to him, would have been nice to have him at LFC, but looks like its not meant to be..

I sort of agree with MITO it can stand you up for the future and make those moments of triumph all the more sweet but I don't think so in this case. I suppose it will teach him that if you don't put in the effort you get what you deserve which is **** all.

Bundesliga players regard Liverpool as their no.1 transfer destination in the Premier League.
In a survey carried out with 235 players from the German top-flight by magazine Kicker, nearly 9.8% named the Reds as the club they would most like to play for.
That was comfortably more than Arsenal (6%) and Manchester United (5.1%), while only Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich scored higher than Jurgen Klopp’s side across the continent.

    This ^

1977 League Cup Final - Aston bleeding Villa - 2 replays - heartbreak for a very young Tobes.

Makes the ups mean more when you've had some real downs as a young'un.

Like so many statistics, utterly meaningless.
"No.1 transfer destination" perhaps. Still fewer than 10% of them though, and they could be the lowest 10% in terms of quality.

It's just something you have to learn to live with. Be a football fan of any description and you're going to have a liberal sprinkling of disappointments throughout your life.
Some of us more than others. :)

    You know what it was:

"John Terry - Captain, Leader, Legend"

You may remove when the first EPL game is kicked off for good behaviour and setting up for FF/Predicto games rather than the official sentence

I think its also important to say... the results not actually important to the vast majority of football fans. Its have the time together and avoiding the missus thats important.

its a day out. its not all about may and finals like say a saddo like matth would be online whining about. its about saturday afternoon (in my day) and having the time.

Not sure I agree with that, but I understand what you're getting at.

Mid 90's I used to go to most aways as well as homes. Every Saturday there'd be a car full of us heading off somewhere, first stop the off licence, and then away we'd go. It was always a great craic, but a bad result took the edge off it, there'd be high levels of fume on the way home.
