You just couldn't make it up, we joked about it... even Seb did "Can both of you take each other out, so I can go through". You must have thought that Mercedes would never, ever allow that to happen. But the way things were going, it was just a matter of time before even the best implode. The story wasn't yet over, as Redbull engineered the first win for super-talent Max Verstappen after a tonne of pressure all race long from the 2007 World Champion. Think Rosberg will nab this.. but I've gone for Hamilton, law of averages and all.... Redbull, Ferrari to contend, think the McHonda's will do well here, the Williams are still shocking in the slower corners, don't expect them to go well here.
Hold your horses on predicting Hamilton. As the saying goes, you have to be in it to win it. There is unusual garbage ebbing along the Meditteranean coast – and some of it may not be the average detritus. We'll have to wait and see: it might wash up here at the next low tide…
I sincerely hope I've been mislead by malicious rumour (which is why I'm not repeating it) but this particular red-snapper smells a bit fishier than usual and could mark a real low-point for a whole lot of people.
Blimey.... Those are some really sketchy details of the alleged incident that are out there right now. Any other details flitting about?
Some bold words coming out of McLaren Honda for this weekend- they reckon that at a power-reduced Monaco, they might have the beating of Ferrari?? I do hope so in a way because at least then it'll be abundantly clear that they just need to step up the power unit, but I suspect they'll have a monumentally close battle with Torro Rosso too, who have a lovely little car that should really take to Monaco. I can see Alonso and Button between 7-10 in Q3. Then with Hamilton and Rosberg colliding early, Verstappen binning it and Ricciardo having a puncture, all they need then is another serving of disappointment from Ferrari and they could have a surprise race win.
Something about an incident at a nightclub in Cannes. Didn't specify what other than something about stolen photos. Didn't make much sense tbh.
It wasn't in the media, so at the time I never posted it, but I heard something interesting about Hamilton's road accident in Monaco last year. I won't give any more details yet, but this could have a link...
Little bits on Twitter suggesting he could be dropped by Merc for this race weekend due to a nightclub incident, but nothing else coming out as it stands.
