Well David Moyes has made his mind up and decided not to join Villa after being offered the job by Villas New chairman.
So what's,taking Rafa so long in deciding his future whether it's at Newcastle or elsewhere, our lass doesn't take this long buying a new handbag so if it's taking this long for him to make his mind up his heart can't really be in it, can it?.

The manager merry-go-round has started so maybe he`s got cv`s all over.

On the other hand maybe nobody wants him.

It was revealed last week. That whilst serving Mr. E Short, caviar and lobster at a rather posh restaraunt a certain rotound Spaniard named Rafa Beneathus approached Mr Short about vacancies at SAFC. He was told that the waiting staff was full. But there maybe a vacancy at the ticket office selling Premiership tickets.

Moyes will sit tight and wait to see what Premier League jobs come up before Christmas.

Think there's a few managers who could be axed if they don't start well.

Says a lot about the new Villa owners, can't tempt an unemployed buffoon into a job with their 'project'... Probably control crazy idiots.

    They'll get a chump of a manager.

I heard that the new Villa owner was bringing Di Matteo with him.

As an aside, its great, I'm quite enjoying Villa's demise.

It may be the situation in a nutshell but I suspect it is more the case of trying to ascertain exactly what is being offered. Look if the correct other team comes in for him then I'm sure he would leave but he said two weeks and it's likely that's part of the bargaining with Mr Ashley - i certainly wouldn't accept a job under fat Mike without dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

I think it's gone from 10% chance to 50% chance of him staying personally. But I'm not privy to any information so .. there you go...

I don't get why the mags are so desperate to keep hold of Rafa. I think he's a substandard manager who hasn't done a good job since Valencia. He's been stealing a living ever since imo, made pretty much every club he's managed worse.

His man management has always been questionable. At Newcastle he had a squad capable of beating a very good Spurs side 5-1, but he couldn't even get them bothered enough about Villa, Norwich, or Sunderland to take more than 2 points in total. Do they really expect him to be able to motivate his team against the likes of Burton and Rotherham? I'm skeptical... think the bedsheets could be out by Christmas, personally.

I'm not a big Rafa fan, I didn't think he was the right choice for them to keep them up.

I think there's a story that when Liverpool were 3-0 down at half time in the CL final against AC Milan, Benitez had **** all to say to them to motivate them so Gerrard had to override him and give the talk himself. Ever since then I've doubted his man management skills.

If think the longer it goes on, the more likely he'll stay.

I bet he's giving his agent hell though. He said he'd know in about 2 weeks a week ago, and the clock is ticking! :emoticon-0158-time:

Fair point lads, unlike Big Sam he'll never be big enough to manage Real Madrid.

What relevance has that got to do with your club, you are being kept waiting by a bloke who you ended up with leaving you in worse situation than when he took over, and your all hanging onto him becoming your new saviour, it's time Tyneside woke up and smelt the coffee, cause even if he stays with his track record I wouldn't hold my breath on him getting you promoted.

It's almost like Sam kept us up and Benitez wasn't good enough to do you the same courtesy.

I must admit, I'd draw the line at begging a man who had just relegated my team, to become our next manager <laugh>

I commented on it as someone said he hadn't done a good job since Valencia yet most Liverpool, Napoli and Chelsea fans seem to appreciate what he did and he's won a handful of trophies since then.

Does that mean he's going to get up promoted? No idea. Do i think he's a better prospect than Warnock/ Martinez/ Monk/ etc? Yes and i would be surprised if any of you thought otherwise.

As regards keeping us up, he got 13 points in 10 games which isn't a bad haul but the telling point is 12 in our last 6 (and we played well enough to beat Villa but just failed to finish the game off) - if he'd had the kind of time Sam had then I strongly suspect we'd have been fine (we got 1 point in 5 games prior to his arrival) and we played markedly better under him than McLaren. All speculation of course, anything 'could' have happened but coming in with what 30 games to go and a transfer window compared to coming in with 10 games to go isn't really that comparable in my view.

At the end of the day, Rafa couldn't do what the likes of Di Canio, Poyet, Advocaat & Big Sam have done.

That's keeping a team that look down and out in the Premier League.

Fair point. Though if you want to talk about the end of the day...

Di Canio - sacked and still unemployed
Poyet - sacked and still unemployed
    Advocaat - left/ retired

I very much doubt Big Sam will go the same way but I wouldn't be so cocky just yet!

It was said tounge in cheek mate. I'm well aware with how the season after went for each of them, unfortunately for us.

I do think it's different this time though. Sam's been there and got the t-shirt, I think we're in good hands.
