It wasn't competing with football, or a Take That concert, or the Annual Mike Ashley Appreciation Society Jamboree. It was a fun event attended by 68K+ and enjoyed by all of those I have seen or heard comment on it. The nit' s gone home . . .
Fez, I'm ****ed if I'm chasing your many replies around. They seem to be largely piss poor personal and off topic anyway. Just thought I'd mention it. Fact is (or 'obvioulsy' as seems to the new version) the local media have a bias against the football club, and in favour of RL. Quite a few notice it, and though it can be read other ways, they've effectively agreed. It'd be far more interesting to discuss that than exchange dull pedantry with you.
Why dont we all give it a rest Have a look at Portland Timbers fans and Timber Joey and see how fans should be together. They seem to fully enjoy themselves
I heard no ****ing trailer claiming 50,000 people were going to watch the Hull Derby at Magic Weekend. I don't know how many times you need telling.
When it was played at Manchester the number of people that only went for their own games was pretty high, most people lived within an hour of the ground so just drove home afterwards. When its played elsewhere more people stay in the stadium all day and make a weekend out of it. Hence why playing it out of the heartlands is better for the 'magic weekend' concept and why they continue to do so.
So local radio, local press and now Look North ( are they local or all Yorkshire ) are all biased against Hull City in favour of anything else to do with sport. Maybe its the ****s who own Hull City that are the problem rather than the media. Someone should ask the Yorkshire Post as they seem to be the only ones giving column inches to City.
That was the OP of the thread. You don't have to chase anything. All of my replies have been civil, they have used facts (lower case will do) that have been reported by the folk responsible for the weekend. There is nothing off topic about them as the topic is in the opening post. That post was, as always, derogatory towards RL and the two teams of Hull; it is also a swipe the media coverage. The facts it used are inaccurate and far more biased than the media could dream of being. But if you wish to defend that then expect to be challenged. The real fact is that you chose to take a truely stupid post and hijack it for an argument of your own making and choice; you steered it and others disagreed with that, then you complain that they are hijacking your hijacking. I have posted nothing personal, I don't believe I have insulted you, I haven't even called you a ****. FACT. I have simply explained why I disagree with you and you don't like that, even though I have not seen you post anything whatsoever, that has truth or fact or whatever you want to call it, to support your argument. So, what would have been your 2-day timetable for the Magic weekend?
Never ceases to amaze me how many City fans are anti rugby. There's already enough people out there making derogatory comments about Hull without Hullensians joining in. Any success in the City whatever sport it is should be celebrated. It's been a great year for the region including North Ferriby and Grimsby. But those small minded folks will probably think differently.
If any City fans are 'anti rugby' it is because the RL coverage is over the top, disproportionate and self-serving. See the OP ffs. **** Grimsby too.
I can see what you say. I still struggle to see how lower gates and money from the game is a benefit.
As a young City fan in the early 80's I was amazed how many rugby fans ridiculed us whilst deluding themselves the threepenny stand was the equivalent of the Anfield kop.
Quite possibly , but we all should be proud of all of Hull's sporting achievements. I think I got slagged off before by saying Hull was better than Leeds sporting wise. Take a look at the current Super League table people and no RL is not my first sport.
I think the club do have a part to play in the problem, but it goes beyond that, and is hardly a new phenomenon There's plenty they could talk about without even involving the club. They could maybe even do some journalism and look at some of the issues and allegations that have been raised on sites like this.
