You're talking guff Rich. You're putting a Championship side above 2 Premiership ones.

That's a bit rich, Rich

That's my point: Not gonna happen.

We need 4/5 signings or its straight back down (I know, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record).

Last season Newcastle and WBA finished above 7 premiership sides on their return from the championship. WBA especially finishing way above expectation.
We obviously concentrate on our own team and can see our weaknesses. But looking at the other teams squads that we'll be fighting with gives me hope. Here's Wigans squad for example as it stands....also remembering their stand out player N'Zogbia is practically gone.
Ali Al Habsi (G)
Chris Kirkland (G) Lee Nicholls (G) Mike Pollitt (G)

Antolin Alcaraz (D) Emmerson Boyce (D) Gary Caldwell (D) Maynor Figueroa (D) Steve Gohouri (D)
Roman Golobart (D) Callum Morris (D) Piscu (D) Jordan Robinson (D) Ronnie Stam (D)

Adam Buxton (M) Mohamed Diame (M) Jordi Gomez (M) James McArthur (M) James McCarthy(M) Victor Moses (M)
Jordan Mustoe (M) Charles N'Zogbia (M) Daniel Redmond (M) Hendry Thomas (M) Ben Watson (M)

Mauro Boselli (F) Franco Di Santo (F) Callum McManaman (F) Hugo Rodallega (F) Conor Sammon (F)

They're no better than us IMO. We have a better keeper, comparable midfield ( Buzz, Derry, Dyer, Faurlin, Adel, Moen to name some) and better attack (Bothroyd, Mackie, Smith, and hopefully DJ to name a few). OK we're far from being where we'd like to be and need to strengthen the defence but Wigan aren't miles ahead of us as is being made out nor are Norwich and Swansea. Blackburn are very weak as well and were hardly leagues ahead of us when we played them at their ground last year..and we had Borrowdale, Clarke, Andrande (for most of game) and Hulse playing. The first 8 games will tell us a lot.

As apposed to sat at home in Birmingham?? :emoticon-0113-sleep

Fair point Gloucester, you may be right. I'm sure Wigan fans etc see plenty of weaknesses in their own team too. I wouldn't compare us to Newcastle or West Brom however. Newkie had Prem players all along and WBA invested after promotion.

Blackpool would be a better comparison I think, and they very nearly pulled it off in truth. Perhaps I'm overestimating our opposition. Warnock to work wonders again hopefully.

far be it for me too judge how far you must live from w12 to te a true qpr supporter...i went to every home game for quite a few years..away ones when work or holidays would allow..now that i live a lot further away than swords or qpranger i dont think that lessens my support for QPR.

With online checkin and all that, i imagine he could probably get to loftus road quicker than you from birmingham. hmmmmm, i feel a wacky races coming on.............................

Its fairly easy to get over from where I live, true enough Turbo. Swords (hence the name) is just 2 miles from the airport. I made 3 games last year but there are guys in the Supporters Club over here that have season tickets and head over all the time.

It is a fair criticism from QPRanger that its easy to have a go all the time when you can't even make it to games. But I find QPRWorld with its commentary and highlights of every game to be the next best thing.

P.S. Roller, I'm ready if they are!!

Swords, it might be a stupid question, but is it the area where they used to make them ?

Na mate, its from an Irish word "Sord" meaning pure. Although if you're out at 3am on a Saturday night, "pure" isn't what springs to mind!

Coincidentally, I have spent a night in Swords – the town that is! I used to work for an air freight company and we had an office at Dublin airport. Very friendly locals, or I just picked the right pub. Too many United supporters for my liking.
