When did you start it? I had a couple of Lambretta shirts from the place in Hull - Near Hull Drawing if that is still on the go. Must have been late 90s Early 00s. Disappointed, never bought them again.
I had it then and I've obviously no idea what it was you bought, but I've only ever made good quality gear (at least as far as middle to better end gear goes).
Brookes was the shop! It's not a criticism, it just didn't work for me. Surprising how motorcycle associated clothing is going through a decent period. I do quite like Belstaff stuff, but the quality is questionable for me.
You've got rather exacting standards if you don't think Belstaff is decent quality. It could be considered expensive for what it is, but it's certainly good quality gear.
I do, maybe I expect too much. I have looked at the jackets a few times and just expect a bit more. The newer Belstaff stuff isn't as good as the older stuff in my opinion. I think corners have probably been cut since JAB bought them out. As they focus on profit rather than quality.
What makes it good quality? Good stitching? Softer fabric? I've had mates who have had fakes last longer than my authentic stuff. You can tell they're fakes when you look at things like labels but from the outside they're spot on.
The better the fibre composition and yarn count, the better a garment will last and usually the speed of manufacture will significantly effect the price, the more slowly and carefully a garment is made, the better it is. Not all fakes are ****, I used to have a jean supplier in Preston who made for the likes of me and Ted Baker, but also made fake Calvin Klein's for a local wholesaler. I didn't know this until I saw him on The Cook Report.
isn't lambretta clothing made in cambodia now, its not a patch on what it was years ago. iv'e got hundreds of tee shirts, polo shirts ect 20 ish pairs of jeans. now i have to go to next. olm you should of kept it as it was.
Sadly it's a pale imitation of what it once was, but they're selling loads of it because it's permanently 70% off and people are dim. I couldn't keep it, the licensing company was run by a pair of arsecunts who were only interested in screwing as much cash out of it as possible.
thought they were. i was talking to a guy in turkey that had a clothes shop.he said he could not buy lambretta clothes even though they were made there. olm do you do any other clothes
What about your usual designer gear like hugo boss, Ralph Lauren, armani etc. most made in Bangladesh or China. Are you just getting ripped off for a brand or is the stuff actually better?
You're lumping China and Bangladesh together like they're the same thing, it's like lumping Germany and Malaysia together when talking about car manufacturing. China is largely a quality manufacturer now and it's not cheap, you will find the likes of Boss and Armani making there. You won't find them making in Bangladesh because they specialise in large volume cheap stuff for supermarkets, Primark, Sports Direct etc.
I'm doing the Trojan brand now and I've got a new Northern Soul collection going into stores late July... www.skaandsoul.com
