You and Tom can have a love in on here that night then He has a track record of successful programs, whether people like him or not. He always used to annoy the crap out of me, but I couldn't deny his ability to produce successful shows.
I don't mind if Top Gear has new presenters. It would have brilliant if there were two car shows I could watch every week. But Evans just annoys me, he is far more me me me then Clarkson. Plus he is also boring. I'm not going to slag of the show etc, it just isn't for me with the current presenters.
Nearly time for another semi final of Britain's got talent. Thought I had got the wrong program last night. As the judges entered it was more like Britains got strippers as Holden and Dixon took their seats. A great family show.
Tennis is strange. Murray playing badly...two sets down to Stepanek. Now 5-0 up in 3rd set. Just won 6-0
Have been alternating 3 channels between Murray, Edmond and the U21s. Now down to 2 channels. Watson went through earlier in the tennis. Light stopped Murray's match....down 2-1, but leading 4-2 in 4th.
Just finished watching a rather quirky Western film called Bone Tomahawk [2015]. It stars Kurt Russell [using the same handlebar moustache as in the awful The Hateful Eight] as a sheriff who gets a report from his elderly deputy that there was an odd man drifting around on the edge of town. It being a frontier settlement, the sheriff decides to investigate, which leads to the said quirky story. Apart from Russell there are no household names, but everyone acts their parts convincingly. There's a fairly good attempt to give the characters a period to their manners and language. Whether or not it is authentic of the time, I don't know, but it adds to the quirkiness and the watch-ability [The Hateful Eight tried an awkwardly similar thing and it didn't work at all]. I won't reveal the story, but I'll say that cave dwelling Indian/Aboriginal people are involved. Besides, you can find out on Google by typing in the title. The film starts off slowish, but don't let that put you off. If you like the odd Western or two, then this one is the odd one. Quite watchable. I should point out that it is rather violent in the odd place and that the violence is not of the Hollywood type. When someone gets hurt, they get hurt. So, with that warning, it's recommended by me.
Trip to passport office. Mine doesn't expire until October but my destination in June needs passport with 6 months validity. It's a daft rule when I'm booked on a return flight 5 days later. I now have to waste a morning going to the office because I can't send it off due to other trips. Grrrr Still, the sun is shining and coffee outside a cafe just opposite the passport office makes it ok
Murray just held serve there to lead 5-2 in 4th set...2-1 sets down. Started shaky, so good hold. Murray takes 4th set.
http://metro.co.uk/2016/05/24/selfridges-is-opening-a-fancy-bar-that-will-only-serve-water-5901300/ Never have the words 'a fool and his money are soon parted' been more true.
Water Aid would welcome the money to provide clean water to people who are really desperate and don't have a tap handy. Gggrrrrr...
