Nope. The leak didn't come from the BBC, it was given to the BBC.

Hence the reason they reported it with such confidence over the weekend.

That leak either came from Mourinho's agent or United. I'd suspect the latter personally.

The joke isn't the BBC, they're merely a media organisation, the joke is United for allowing that information to pass, at a level of seniority that allowed the BBC to report it was 'fact'.

I should have clarified what I was trying to say.

Not from a BBC insider or anything - but it was them who published it and his Mrs quoted the BBC article.

I reckon the BBC post what they want regardless.

They posted that as being definitive fact - and it was.

They wouldn't have run that piece without the information having come from a very highly trusted source, which almost certainly means someone within United, and at a very senior level.

They had to report it for sure.. and why not?

but to then question it after smacks of a bit of hypocrisy. I think given they did question it Its not coming from a Utd source but came form mourinho... but then... well it would be like them

I hope they also resigned Clattenburg for the upcoming season. The pair of them will be unstoppable!

But, Utd the club is too close in distance as well as collusion with BBC journos for them to ever be fair in their coverage of football in general.
Maybe Maureen's prickly and sarcastic mannerisms with journos wll change the way the local mob of BBC footy journos look after the club at all costs in stark contrast to individuals like LVG who wasn't allowed to enjoy the cup success he brought to his club before the knife was hanging out of his back.

well the facts as i saw them were the press really turned on mourinho last year and deffo helped get him the push.

it'll be interesting to see what happens next there. theres quite a few manc press hacks that will be very glad to see the back of LVG though... especially the fat man...

LVG can claim a giant success story at utd. Silverware in shelf and brave new young team ready to win league.

Same as when others stepped in to fix the awful messes he left at barca and bayern.

    I don't entirely agree.
It's difficult for those of us who live in the real world to understand, but I think once you reach a level of income that releases you from the pressures of earning a living, other factors become the driving force. Success and pride in personal achievement will be important to him at a stage in life when you would assume he is financially secure no matter what.

Yep, an announcement was going to be soon after the match, then before 1.00pm today when the New York stock market opened.
It is now nearly 9.00pm and still nothing <ok>

I know some of you are all of a sudden concerned for how LVG, the man you've been slating for two years, has been treated and there has been mention that Sir Alex, your favourite man, somehow shafted him. As ever your hypocrisy and bitterness is outstanding!

'Finally, my special thanks go to Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton for always making me and my family feel so welcome throughout my time as Manchester United manager.'

LOL...can't speak for anyone else but Fergies record speaks for itself..no matter what I personally think of him.

    Same goes for Mourinho..
He's won stuff with previous clubs. I don't like the man and think he has a short shelf life at a club..looks like he'll have the same two years at United that VG had.

Now VG had a record at previous clubs too...which he went to great pains to point out in that same statement you quoted from...the repetition suggests that quote wasn't quite as heart felt as you made it quoting in isolation. We'll see in a year when the old agreement not to slagg the club off to get the speedy payment wears off.

Read an interesting and disconcerting article today...what's your thoughts on it?
