    1. Be clear in communications with your fans
The passion and loyalty of the fans should be at the heart of everything clubs do and as such they need to be rewarded with open communication with the boardroom. Whether that be discussing their issues through supporter groups or the club issuing more statements clarifying transfer activity, communication is key to keeping fans on board and maintaining a club’s sustainability. We’ve seen countless occasions over the years just how powerful supporters can be and the more clarity and the more immersed they are in a club’s decisions, I think, the better.

This from the bloke who scrapped Hull City's loyalty scheme.

    Very ironic.

    1. Plan your parachute payment investment
Whilst the ‘trap door’ I mentioned earlier is a constant threat, there are strong contingency plans in place to help clubs if the worst case scenario does come about and it is vital to make allowance for the parachute payments at the beginning of the season rather than the end. One bit of advice I’d give is to structure your spending with the aim of achieving the best league finish possible but also with the realism that Premier League football can be a cruel mistress and survival a very tough ask. Ultimately, it is crucial to know what is sustainable and, if you do suffer relegation, how to keep your heads above water in order to make a swift return.

It must be true what they say about global warming- exceptionally early harvest of sour grapes this year.

It was not scrapped for those that had been on Away Direct from the start.

Fair enough, I wasn't really thinking about that as a loyalty scheme.

Why anyone would take note of this lying cheating thieving piece of **** is beyond me, I wouldn`t put my lad`s piggy bank in his hands let alone a football clubs` money. He is a `spin doctor`, nothing more, but the way he frittered money whilst at the helm was criminal, not to mention the money he siphoned off into his bank account !
