Maybe, which is why I will give it a small chance. The show will have to grab my attention inside 10 minutes however. It has to start with a bang.
I think Top Gear might turn out to be a pleasant surprise for one main reason - the total absence of Jeremy Clarkson.
Wow Tom, you are very demanding. To be honest I think they may be better off without your support. I bet you give the new Clarkson, May and Hammond show a whole episode
3 dead, 30 sick on Mount Everest. The 3 dead from altitude sickness. The 30 are either ill or have frostbite. To die from altitude sickness suggests a degree of stupidity and recklessness. Obviously didn't turn back when they started feeling unwell.
That's Chandler, not Joey.[/QUOTE] I'm Chandler; Tom is Joey. It fitted the 'friends themed' chat Could you be anymore pedantic
Yes, but your suggestion put stupidity and recklessness first, which suggests that that was all you considered.
It seems almost anyone with enough money can get to try and climb Everest these days - recipe for disaster .............
To some people, going to Everest would put stupidity and recklessness at the forefront of any of the ingredients that form a person. For some people the same could be said of some of the pastimes I've partaken in, ie sailing and motorcycling. It's all a question of degree of adventure and the measure of risk. I don't think you'll find that people walk up high mountains without proper preparation. But put simply, it's a ****ing dangerous pastime of which I'm sure they are all incredibly aware. But they do it for the adventure and they know the risks. It's tragic when it goes wrong, but that's the price a mountaineer can pay for the adventure.
Agree totally TSS. Our annual TT motor cycle races start the coming weekend. No doubt there will be many injuries and perhaps sadly deaths both in the racing and on open roads.
Yep. Those riders know the risks. It's about as dangerous as it gets, but the vast majority get through it.
I liked him in Episodes...he allowed himself to be sent up. He was shooting an episode of Top Gear when I was in Kenmare....apparently he was lovely to fans.
