I think money and success are fairly evenly weighted, as they often come hand in hand. The bigger, better clubs are often successful because they can pay the best players. It also depends at where players are in their career, it makes perfect sense for an older player to go to U.S/China to get one last huge pay day rather than compete for trophies in Europe.
