The really annoying thing is that there were occasions when we did give it a real good go, unfortunately we weren't able to do it consistently!

We don't have time to **** about, the new season isn't far away, and to be discussing terms with Whittaker for me is a negative thing, it doesn't show that the manager see's we need new blood and quickly. It's no good signing players a week before the season starts then saying they have to have time to bed in, I'm really worried! :headbang::emoticon-0107-sweat

Yes, Whittaker is definitely 'past his sell by date' - he may be OK going forward, but we need defenders who can also defend!!!! If we keep him, then I feel it's sending out the wrong signal to the fans and what's the point of even discussing terms, when SHOULD we get promoted, he'll need to be offloaded at the end of the season. Madness!!! <doh>
We've got Olsson and Toffolo at LB as well as Martin and Pinto at RB, so we don't need Whitts as well!!!! Let him go on a free, but LET HIM GO!!!!!

Mate, if you are this pissed off for the new season already! It's only going to go down hill from here! I'm tryig not to think about it, it's nice not feeling total stress about 6 pointers and must wins.

I agree with your Whittaker comment. He's decent Championship player, but we don't need him to be "Another decent Championship player" we need a young player who's very good and respected in the Championship, with potential to grow. Like Byram and Trippier were in the past.

Chris Solly from Charlton is a name that springs to mind at a glance. Young, big potential, always been respected at Championship level, and been scouted regularly by Premiership clubs. These are the kind we should move for.

Moussa Dembele at Fulham. He's another of those.

I just don't have any faith in Alex Neil. Hope I'm wrong but seriously concerned. This sort of thing just compounds my feelings.

I love An, he reminds me so much of what I loved about Lambert. He hasn't excelled in the Premiership, But he goes back down, and will go again. What I will say. The AN we have this next season, is far more advanced than the risk we took on when we appointed him. He got us promoted when it looked impossible.

Unless we recruit well it could be a long and frustrating season for us. Villa have new owners and a big pile of cash. If Benitez stays the bar codes will be very strong and there are a number of decent sides in the Champ, certainly it is stronger than when we went up two seasons ago. We will not succeed by keeping hold of the dead wood who could not cut it this season. We currently need at least one goal scorer and a centre half good enough to make the first XI. Not yet more bang average squad players. I'd happily upgrade our keeper as well but I know this will not happen and really we all know where the real need lies.

I have to agree with ILD in that I have e lost a lot of faith in AN. Poor transfers poor team selection and often no plan B whatsoever. I also don't get how someone reputed to be a brilliant man manager let the team put in so many utterly spineless performances. For me he has an awful lot to prove next season starting with getting Klose to stay and getting the right quality of players in.

Haha, you know all the buttons to hit for certain likes. Yet KIO hasn't yet. You've been aggressively negative, like KIO always is. Even when we win, I can't remember a single positive thing you've said.

I hear what you're saying Dave, but he's admitted himself that he's made mistakes - let's hope he's learnt from those mistakes and that we'll see something of a preferred starting 11 next season and not selecting a team to counter the opposition, but setting out to play how he wants the team to play - especially when we're at CR!!!!!!!

Positive......erm, oh yes, losing 6-2 to Newcastle, when the under 9's would have beaten them, same at Villa, the list goes on, oh and let's not forget getting relegated with another must win game against Sundeland 3-0 at home that one, strikers who can't score, defenders who can't defend, losing the biggest payday in the clubs history,......give me some positives FML.

Success in football is measured by.
A . Man management. Fail ostracised all of our strikers other than three goal Jerome and big Dave who's leaving.

    B. Winning important games . Fail list too long .

    C. Keeping a balanced winning side. Fail tinkering to counter our opponents and not making positive subs.
    Martin as Cente back.

    D. Transfer activity. Fail but that may be down to scrooge McDuck

    E. Motivating players. Fail we rolled over when it mattered.

    F. Keeping us 17th or better. Fail and this was what Neil was paid to do.

Can some pro Alex posters put a list of achievements that Neil has pulled off THIS season please as I obviously can't see the wood from the trees?
