Other than the fact that I think the timing of the 'leak', almost straight after the final whistle, makes the club look rather classless, I believe JM will prove to be a revelation. There is no doubt whatsoever that he has coveted the manager's job, in fact his 'cultivated' friendship and deference to SAF did seem a little too obvious - but it proves he wanted the job badly - and now he has it. Unlike at any of his previous clubs he has something to prove, he hasn't just slipped from one successful job into another - there is serious work to be done, there is a very real challenge - and he has a serious point to prove. Add to that the added spice of a whole raft of new managers at the top clubs (particularly the potential 'spice' of the renewed rivalry with Pep) and I think we are in for one of the most exciting seasons in a long time. I believe he will understand exactly what is expected of him, there will need to be a continued commitment to youth and he will have to remember that he is the very public face of a global institution, not just some Russian gangster's plaything. If he manages that side of things we are bound for great success. He knows the PL inside out whereas Conte and Pep haven't a clue - that should give him the advantage straight away, plus we have a very young and talented squad with years together ahead of them.
Think you are deluded that he will behave any differently because it is United rather than Real or Inter. He won't moderate his behaviour for long but he more than likely deliver success. His way not United's. I'm sure he will pay lip service to youth, £60m ones anyway!!!
You seem to be a great fan of his. Will you remain one even if he manages United ? Will you wish him to do well? I am not so certain that he will be successful. I was happy that he was not chosen immediately after Fergie left. I still believe that Moyes wasn't given enough time but like LVG has now found out the minimum requirement is CL football. That's part of being a big club.
Of course. He is our greatest manager. I hope he puts one over Pep, but think Pep starts favourite with Jose II (conte) hopefully making a few waves. I can see why you guys are negative to Jose as he is so UnUnited. That way is finished ... Forever. You will be chopping and changing coaches like everyone else. Also can't believe you are saying top 4 is minimum requirement for United. A club United's size should be top two plus CL semi most seasons. Finally you said you needed £300m to rebuild the squad. What I think you need (and chelsea) are leaders and winners. Jose is good at that. Hopefully conte is too
I think he meant post Fergie (the sum I said was needed to bring us back to being competitive). Shame that LVG wasted a lot of it.
Looks like it is definite - http://www.skysports.com/football/n...inho-tipped-to-take-over-at-manchester-united
Strange post. I'm sure that makes sense somehow in your head but in the real world you're straw clutching.
Manchester United have won more than half the Premier League titles .... and will never know the feeling of accomplishment than Leicester have .
Aahhh the broken record. I take it you have no comeback then? It's nice you Swans have come on to revel in the possible new appointment of our next manager. I'm sorry yours was a non-event. I've forgotten who he is. Someone suitable for the Championship 12 months from now I take it?
