If Man Utd wanted to get back to their own principles then Poch was their man; builds a team and gives youth a chance.

Problem is, they've been used to so much success under Fergie that they don't want to wait and build, they want success yesterday.

Good call, he is very under rated at the moment (probably because of the way City treated him) <ok>

Or, Poch could be quite happy where he is and has no reason to move at the moment?

He was superb with Wales, Blackburn, Fulham, Stoke and Man City.

Imo he'd have been the perfect fit, knows the traditions and expectations of the club in terms of youth policy and attacking style.

Going to be interesting to see how Old Trafford reacts to park the bus tactics.

Big Ron's Utd played good football?, he won silverware? and he was sacked, in many ways Fergie's longevity has and will bite Utd on the arse for years to come unless the next etc "chosen ones" have plans that include integrating youth and bought in experience as well as playing eye candy football, so far Maureen's CV doesn't include all those ingredients at any one club.

Would he really turn down Man Utd though?

Probably true, Poch probably sees his Spurs team as better than Man U, however you are Man U. Frankly there aren't many bigger names in world football than you and have pretty much a blank cheque book when it comes to players or Managers. It might take him a few years to put Man U back to the top but it would be a longer lasting legacy.

It'd think the reason is because Maureen is a big name and is out there and ready to jump back into management. He's an easy choice and almost guarantees trophies within a couple of years. However long term he's not a good choice.

I really don't know, managers change clubs on a regular basis, at some they look good at others not so.
Managers are as much a lottery as players are, we just hope they are going to work well.

Good shout, I wonder if he's been considered. Poorly treated by City, and has a history of picking up decent players wherever he's been

He is young and doing well at Spurs, the United job could set him back a long way if he fails. In 10 years time he might take the risk because his reputation will have been made.

Mourinho to bring back exciting football to United.... Well to be fair, his Chelsea team were more exciting but that's only because paint drying is more exciting than this United team.

Depay, Mata, Rashford and anyone else under 20 won't be getting much game time next year then

I think he is happy where he is but he was also reportedly happy at Saints too. Or are you claiming Spurs are bigger than Man Utd?

Do you not remember his first time at Chelsea when they set the record for the most goals scored and highest points gained in a season?

His first season when it wasn't his team? But like Martinez getting Everton to play good football and have a solid defence in first year... When he hadn't put his stamp on it.

No, I am saying that for his age he has reached a very high level and still has a good chance of taking them higher. Why should he risk that for a job he knows could kill him at the moment but could be a destination in future years when his reputation is solid

Why would he leave a CL team with a decent bunch of young players for United, the poisoned chalice ?
