Tadic is a whiner

That's a lot to replace, even with the 60-70m we'd receive for them. This is the moment for the board...Koeman has made it clear that sell-to-buy is inadequate as far as he is concerned. We're getting a huge windfall from the TV rights. We're going to have at least six European fixtures. Now, are we going big?

 

Juanmi - Couldn't care less
Pelle - Expected. Not an essential player now
Wanyama - Been expected for a couple of years
Mane - Would think it will need a big offer for him to go. Shame but he wasn't actually that great for a lot of this season
Tadic - The most surprising but even so there were rumours he was unhappy with Koeman and I wouldn't be surprised if he was unhappy about being benched/dropped. When we play 3-5-2 it just doesn't suit him

Anyway, I don't believe it.

 

For me the reality sunk in in the first #meltdown year of 2014. If we have players who are wanted by the big clubs we will struggle to keep them. This means that it is very unlikely that we will ever be a regular top 4 team, but as Leicester have proven, if you get it right there is no reason why you can't have a great season and even win the PL.

 

Nothing to do with the board if players want to leave.

 

Just to lighten the mood this was reported on Sky this evening

Southampton are monitoring Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet as they consider a £10million summer bid, according to the Daily Mail.
The paper reports that Ronald Koeman's brother Erwin watched Praet, 22, play on Thursday night.

How we choose to replace them certainly has to do with the board. That was my point; if our transfer budget looks eerily similar to the money taken in from player sales again, we can probably add a new manager to the search within twelve months.

 

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I am saying the board shouldn't be blamed for players wanting to leave.

 

Again it is a difficult one. Say we get £70m for those 5 players who are supposedly leaving. We will not go out and spend £70m on 5 players as we tend to buy players around the 10m mark, as these are the sort of value players we can attract. If we sold those 5 and then bought 8 players with the money then in theory we have improved the depth of squad, and maybe the overall quality.

 

I've seen Ron in interviews saying that we "could lose one or two" through players personal ambition and that he understands it.
The thing that I can't get my head around is that they have seen what can happen moving to a big club where you become a much smaller fish in a bigger pond.
Les Reed said at the awards that the club don't want to sell anybody (apart from Juamani) and the squad just needed tweaking a bit.

 

No real shocks, Tadic is clearly in Love with Graziano and if the club are not offering him a new deal, then perhaps it's inevitable he will want to leave too.

Other than the Toby fiasco I think the club handled the exits a lot better last season from a PR perspective and I have every faith they'll do the same. At least without the burden of Europa qualification we can bed the new players in with a good pre-season and won't suffer during the early season games, whilst the window is still open.

With injuries, exits and strikes our defensive unit was all over the place in August last year and didn't really settle until deep into the season

 

Compare the feelings now to the optimism of Sunday. I will wait and see and not get too bothered.

 

No, but it should be blamed for fulfilling their wishes. Al least for the ones it can realistically keep (Tadić, Mane)

 

You are massively under estimating just how self confident top level sports people are in their own ability. They would see it as an opportunity to go to a top club and become a regular player for them, probably thinking something like "if they want to sign me then they must see a place for me in their team", And even if they did think along the lines of "well I'll never make their team" then there is still every chance that they would go for the £.
