I was wondering what any posters from the West Upper are doing next season. For those who don't know it's being closed unless we win the playoffs. Has anyone moved and if not are you worried that all the good seats will be taken before May 28 if we fail in Wembley? I've rung the club twice about this and they don't seem interested in taking my money either to renew the existing seat (UPR2) or to move me elsewhere.

We will have to move from our current seat in Upper West come what may -even if we go up only half of that stand will be available to home fans. We sit right on the half way line so in the case of promotion we have 3 options as I see it.

    a) Move to another stand
    b) try to get a seat as close as possible to our current seats but then be next to snarling away fans
    c) Try to get a decent seat in Lower west but I fear most of them will be gone and we will be stuffed in a corner somewhere

None of the above are particularly appealing but no way will we stop attending games whatever division we are in. Lets hope we get promotion, new owners and a scrapping of this scheme

I'm hoping that the membership scheme will be amended to include concessions and leave West Stand Upper as it was before, allowing current season ticket holders to renew their seats. Not really expecting it to be honest, just hoping...

Are you going to leave it until after the play off final to decide then?
My worry is that all the reasonably priced seats will be taken and I'll be left with a limited choice which I may not be able to afford (x3).
Considering our seats are possibly disappearing I would have though we should have first choice of available seats not 2 weeks after everyone else has had their pick of a move!!

Probably wait till after play offs, yes. It's not a price issue for us - its about a decent seat from where we can see both goals. I don't think take up has been that much so far

Me and my dad have sat in, what we believe to be, the best seats in the stadium for 12 years. It's a rubbish atmosphere, but the view is excellent. We sit on the front row, on the halfway line, right next to the aisle (handy for a quick dash to the bar at half time!). Now we have to move. Gutted.

Even if we get to the Premier League, this part of the upper tier we sit in will be closed to pass holders. To add insult to injury, the day trippers in the home end (i.e. Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal etc fans covering their colours...) will have the best seats in the house, and even on the odd occasion next season, the away fans will be there!

To answer your question; we renewed yesterday, as yesterday was the first time we were aloud to pick an alternative seat. We're very angry about the situation, but Hull City on a Saturday afternoon is far too important to mine and my dad's relationship to not have it. It's sad that the club are taking advantage of this fact. The seats us west stand uppers picked were the ones no one else in the ground wanted to pick until now. We've got some seats in the west lower. We were in a queue on the phone for over an hour waiting to get through to someone, so it was obviously very busy yesterday which surprised me a little considering all of the disgruntled fans.

My last hope now is that we get new owners and they abandon closing the upper tier and sort out the concessions stuff, then they offer us to renew in the same seats. I realise there's virtually zero chance of this happening. It'd be an administrative nightmare now.

In my opinion, although I'm aware I don't have the finances in front of me, if they reduce ticket prices around the stadium, people will fill those empty seats. I have no doubt about that. I don't see the sense in closing the upper tier at all. I can't see how it costs them so much money to keep it open. When was the last time we had promotional offers on tickets? The last one I remember off the top of my head (although I appreciate there will have been other ones) was when we beat Cardiff 4-1 in December 2006 when it was a fiver a ticket. Or even given away free tickets? Sheffield Wednesday have done that school kids for years! We've built a good fan base in the past 15 years or so, but we're not an affluent city and we're being priced out of football.

If you're definitely renewing, then you might as well do it now, they're selling seats all the time and the longer you leave it, the worst the selection you'll have. If we get promoted, you can switch back to the West Upper then.

That's the thing exactly but both of the City people I spoke to on the phone didn't present this as an option as UPR2 will remain open if we go up and I guess they don't want people ping ponging around the stadium.

The second guy I spoke to on Monday actually said "you don't need to worry as it looks like we're going up now anyway". I admire his optimism but I get the feeling he's not been watching City play for as long as I have!.

I don't want to demand to move to W2 (same price) and then find I can't move back again to my preferred location if the Gods smile on us on May 28.
I think I'll have to ring for a third time and be a bit more forceful on this occasion....

I've moved to one of the corners. Worse seat but at least £250 better off.

Don't forget the lets not protest bit because the games are important. How will a protest movement garner support during the closed season will be interesting to see. As you say too many "i'm alright jacks" Whichever way next weekends game goes there will be no time to keep everyone happy, either moving those getting kicked out of their seat or even putting them back where they moved from. Really sad to say but i think this is a done deal, the **** has shafted you all again.

It's all well and good shutting the Upper West, what if we don't go up and then go on a winning run again? Can see many supporters wanting to watch games missing out for tickets, especially if a big away following swallow up the full allocation.

I've not renewed, but I've heard a few that have renewed saying that they feel little guilt about gaining, because nobody gave a **** when they were shifted.
