They beat us at Sol and we drew at Hull (Rodwell scored) the, season they went down, Catts usually picks up a red card against them, and they did beat us three times the season before, we lost an FA Cup tie at their place so we don't do well against them at all.

Six in a row. You say.

    That has a familiar sound.

Saints supporter here. Just popped across the forums to see what you thought of Kelvin Davis during his time at Sunderland. Obviously, I can understand if you don't want to think too much.
You may be interested to know that Davis played his last game for Saints on Wednesday in his testimonial. It was quite emotional. He's been a fantastic servant to the club in his 10 years, playing 300+ games, but what a character.
He was one of the leading players who came up through the levels from L1 to the PL. We thank him. Here's a post-match speech video from his night. Amazing the difference people can make in the right circumstances:

    Good luck for next season.

The worst goalkeeper that I have seen for Sunderland. He was absolutely gash.

Probably the only position in the team where we have mainly been lucky. But he is not included.

It was mate. I detest Hull more than Bruce. Despite his constant bleating

Yeah, I do understand. I've seen the stats.
Kelvin came to Saints with his confidence absolutely shot. But recovered well and quickly became a mainstay of the team. I think it's important to note that his limit was reached the season we returned to the PL. However, he filled in occasionally and gave good performances on the whole. Behind the scenes he has been a fantastic professional throughout, and it's that which has cemented the admiration among the professionals who played with him. For Saints he was the right guy at the right time.

    Cheers.

We always seem to lose against hull nowadays, and Bruce in general. But when he was with us, I got the feeling he genuinely didn't want to win against the mags, and the 5-1 didn't concern him. Find it funny that we were went on a 6 in a row after he left...

I don't believe that for a second mate.

I believe his professional pride would have taken a massive hit.

I think Sunderland are immeasurably better now. The problem, as I see it, is that a lot of other clubs have improved even more. Leicester, Southampton, Stoke, and to a lesser extent, Palace are, if anything, leaving us behind. I'm not going to make any judgements on Sam's team before October - we.ve all seen 'miracle' escapes before. Let's wait and see. But, at least on paper, we are better now.

Yes, teamwise. Obviously, on league position, we're not better. And that's my point - other teams have stayed ahead, or even moved further away from us. The danger is, with every club having mega money this close season, it is, as Sam has said, all about how effectively we spend.

Will this board go into a massive meltdown if Allardyce walks because short won't back him?

Right now you're on a knife edge, your owner has to back Allardyce properly, not half-heartedly.
