An only child, I was born in New York during the WW2 years
Raised a Roman Catholic, I considered the priesthood but eventually opted for a career in politics and law
During the 80s, the Mafia took a vote to decide whether I should be assassinated
I was given an honorary knighthood by the Queen

I was born in Surrey during the first decade of the 20th century
I failed miserably at school, so I dropped out early to work as an accountant's apprentice
One of my films won seven Academy Awards, and the likes of Spielberg and Kubrick have lauded me
I was married six times, made a CBE and received a knighthood

I was born into a religious household during the late 1700s, in the USA
I attended Yale College and studied many subjects, including mathematics, philosophy and science
Influenced by the Renaissance, I studied anatomical drawing, and produced my first masterpiece at 20
The death of my wife contributed greatly to my most famous and important achievement

Following the delightful scenes from Saturday's cup final, I've decided to dedicate today's quiz to Scottish football.

    No link required!

I was born in north-east Scotland during the early 1970s
I enjoyed two spells at my boyhood club and even attracted attention from the likes of Parma and Sampdoria
I represented my country at the highest level, played for three English clubs and scored an own-goal against Manchester United
I suffered a mild stroke in my late 30s

I was born in Renfrewshire during the mid1960s
I played over 200 matches for Rangers before being deemed surplus to requirements by Graeme Souness
Despite my height and defensive duties, I was known as an adept dribbler who could score quality goals
I finished my career in Australia and moved into sports management

I was born in East Lothian during the mid 1920s
I made my debut during a wartime Southern League match, and went on to score 130 goals during a 16 year career
I scored for Scotland in my only appearance for the national team
I enjoyed watching my son establish a successful career with both Rangers and Celtic

I was born in Ayrshire during the early 1960s
I gave up a career in the police force to play professional football
I only ever played for one club and still hold their record for most European appearances, eight in total
I was selected for several Scotland squads but only ever played for the B team, and I now work for the SFA

I was born in Lanarkshire during the early 1920s
I made my debut at the age of 17, in a friendly match with Arsenal, and went on to play 200 times for my only club
Sandwiched between two successful spells as a manager, I worked as a sports journalist for two newspapers
I was credited with overhauling Scottish football stadia during the 1970s
