Gary O Neill's been offered a new contract. Hope he accepts it - if we need one or two midfielders to go then Dorrans and Mulumbu would be ahead of O Neill in my book.

Redmond would be a snip at £10m Tbh........but with just a year left on his contract he may go for around the £6m mark....

I'm sure he has much higher aspirations than Swansea.

I don't know where he will go to be honest but he will do well with us as an established premiership club....6 seasons and counting.....

In fairness, AN's 'no fire sale' comment was explained as no player will leave on the cheap. We're in the same position Hull were in when they held out for £7m for Brady. With the new money in the PL his price will have gone up. £10m for Redmond is reasonable and with so many clubs interested, it could be more. Deals like that (like Snoidgrass and Fer last time) would provide a solid fund for developing the squad towards a promotion push.

I'd guess his contract has a clause which allows the club to activate another year. We do that a lot, so it's effectively two years still

Get your club to put £10m on the table and I'll drive him over to you myself. Be careful what you wish for.

Apart from Howson, Brady and maybe Redmond, there's not much to start a fire with, just shows how daft this manager is!

Actually ILD, the term applies to damaged goods for sale after a fire, and I would classify all of our players as damaged goods. Two relegations on most of their CVs does not look too good.

    • a sale of goods or assets at a very low price, typically when the seller is facing bankruptcy.

Seems to make the statement even more daft.

Russell Martin says he wants to stay as Captain and to lead us back to the Premier League, only problem is that there's not many who do if the on line poll is anything to go by.

He's been a great servant to NCFC and I'm not for one minute suggesting that we should move him on but I think we need a change and as several have said, Timm Klose (if he stays), should be made Captain

Why would you choose someone as captain who would struggle to get in the starting 11.

I think if Martin stays as captain that would demonstrate more than almost anything else just how little the club has move on and why we will never become an established PL team.

What he actually said is that there will be no 'fire sale', not that we need one. He was emphasizing how healthy our financial situation is.

You have to respect Watford in the way they go about their business.
They are ruthless when It comes to player recruitment and changing managers.
Watford is run like a business and constantly evolves where as we still have players well past their best getting games mainly due to sentiment .

    Why do you think that?

Any team that buys him will very quickly figure out that he has some major flaws in his game. For instance taking people on and shooting/crossing accuracy.

I don't understand all the love for Redmond. He has been a MASSIVE disappointment, not only this season but the other season we went down as well.

If he had a 10 year contract I would still take £10m for him.

So what you are saying is that Redmond is only worth £6m so we should sell him for that? You obviously have a very limited grasp of football finances.
