Oh I don't know. Imagine the fun when the attacking side loses the ball in the opponents' penalty area and twenty players stream off at the same time that another twenty are running on - all this whilst the ball is still in play!

Oh and there's the oxygen breaks as well.

I think we should give it a try.

Evening games would have to kick off at 6:30 to accommodate the extra hour and a half that they would run for. Travelling fans would be a thing of the past for those.

No European football for Liverpool now - they will be expected to push on the league next season.

Total implosion in the second half. Sevilla are obviously a decent side but they really didn't have to work too hard for that.

FL thinking of creating another league and having 4 leagues of 20 from 2019...

    Good idea?

Less games in each league which might save costs etc.

The National League is virtually that already with the number of teams in there that are former league teams.
It'll mean 100 teams in the League Cup instead of 92 unless they decide that teams in Europe don't have to take part, re-arranging the FA Cup draw so the allocation of teams entering at each stage works. The JPT will have 12 more teams. There will be the loss in revenue from fewer games - will it put more clubs in danger of going out of business? What will it mean for teams in the second tier of non-league football such as Hemel are now?

Less games in each league, yes - but that means less income for the clubs too. With wage bills unlikely to be reduced, the money will have to come from somewhere. Who other than the fans do you think will 'pick up the slack'?

The proposed reduction in teams per division is apparently to cut down the number of midweek fixtures, yet they're also talking about having each FA Cup round played in midweek. I think that would be a bad move as it may possibly lead to a lack of interest in the competition.

I wonder too if the Championship clubs would happily vote for it - the final season of the current format would see seven clubs relegated.

And on the subject of the FA Cup - this gives me the impression that Wembley no longer want to host the final.

Nothing like spoiling the fans' day out.... <grr>

They will try to move the FA Cup final abroad before too long I bet!

How can you stop somebody wearing colours?

BTW I presume the extra teams aren't an excuse to play "B" teams ....

Play the FA Cup, League Cup and Play off Finals in the Millennium Stadium Cardiff
Our play off against Leeds was great there, much better than Wembley

The new Wembley is a truly horrible place. The stadium itself is a vast soulless bowl, the surrounding architecture bland, corporate nonsense. I hate the place and will never go there again. The Millennium Stadium is a fine example of what can be done at a huge saving on the cost of Wembley with excellent pubs nearby.

Having experienced both there, I'd have to say that the atmosphere at Wembley is better for the American football than for the sport it's built for. I may be wrong, but I think that the deal with the NFL means that those games aren't included in the Club Wembley events and the tickets go on general sale.

I'm really pleased the Crystal Palace fans will experience the miserable walk back down Olympic Way whilst the opposing fans are gloating and celebrating.

It seems that Lord Vishnu was alive and well at Hampden Park yesterday.

Who'd have guessed he was a Hibee?
