David Ginola has had a heart attack whilst playing golf near Nice in France. His condition is described as stable. Ex Magpie players dropping like flies, I wish him well in his, recovery.

People can try as much as they can to 'keep themselves fit' physically, but has he not been a 'heavy' smoker for many years, though

That could have a massively detrimental effect on anybody :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I didn't know that he smoked...If true then that will be a major factor..

Smoking athletes, must be a French thing. Remember Steed was allegedly on 20 a day and that's why he could never manage 90 minutes

You don't have to be unfit to have a heart attack mind, plenty of sportsmen have them.

Weapon of a player in his day, hopefully he'll be just fine.

He mastered the art of diving, I think he learnt from Klinsmann, and that won him a lot of free kicks, which should have been red cards in my opinion.
Having said that, apart from that side of his game he was a great player and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Always a puzzle that ex-trained athletes suffer these. The obese pie munchers will be pointing to that as the cause of bad health.

He hasn't even had a heart attack, just fainted playing 5 a side. God knows that's nearly happened to me many times.

Edit: scratch that, apparently the fainting story was a line from his agent for some reason and he is actually in a bad way.

For those on here who can paste from the BBC website and download his story onto here then you will see what extremely lucky man he was to survive his attack.
