Anita will be here, he has confirmed as much and the quote from Janmatt sounds positive. I know a lot of people have said they can't wait to see the back of him but if he's committed and happy to stay that's good enough for me.

    http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...ther-newcastle-united-player-pledged-11350882

So far by my count that is:
    Krul
    Darlow
    Dummett
    Lacselles
    Mbemba
    Janmatt
    Anita
    Colback
    Shelvey
    Aarons
    Townsend
    Mitrovic
    Perez

Who all seem as though they are committed and "happy" to stay. Obviously some will need to go but if you kick people like Saylor, De Jong, Gouffran - along with Obertan and Marveux already - out the door that's got to be around 100K saving a week on wages alone. Ship out/release/loan Sissoko, Wijnaldum and Colo the club maybe willing to just take the financial hit on the rest to try and come back first time of asking.

I really don't know what happened to Saylor, he was injured, came back and played well against West Brom but after that he was shocking.

    He's got to go.

That squad on its own should get you promoted

I think it's a case of the players enjoy playing for Benitez and sense a change in attitude. They want to be part of that.

I'm still slightly cynical about some players saying they'd like to stay. They may well be intending to jump ship but by not requesting to leave they get a 'loyalty' bonus.

Possibly. It's also good PR for them in terms of keeping the fans on side just in case they don't get a transfer. Case of not burning bridges.

Plus, they might still be buzzing from sunday. Don't they realise we got relegated? <doh>

Most definitely - when we relegated in 2009 the team was an absolute mess with no permanent manager and every week they'd be some stupid takeover story that caused instability and worry....yet we still managed to maintain a good core of players that was above Championship standard and easily got us promoted.

If we manage to hang on to Benitez, it'll be a massive factor in persuading players to stay - players will be happier with Benitez in the Championship than with McClaren or Carver in the Prem. Big sense of good things to come if we can hang on to him....however if they balls this up and Benitez doesn't stay, I could see a lot changing their minds.

Anita will be a massive bonus if he stays next season, definitely one of our few good players this season - retain him, Lascelles, Mbemba, Dummett, Shelvey and most of the above and we've got a very solid team. Nice to see those signalling their intent to stay are the committed battlers - no word from Gini, Sissoko, Cisse and Colo, not to worry, we don't need them.

It's funny the one's no one is worried about are the ones keeping their council. Good riddance to all of them if they are off. I could see Moussa and Wijnaldum being loaned out with clauses allowing them to leave after a season but again to of the biggest under-performers we have had this season so won't be to fussed.

Sissoko just opened his gob to French media, he has "no intention on playing Championship football". I really hope he does go, he has been useless apart from his first game, and hopefully, his last. Apart from that, garbage on the whole. He is like Gutierrez, but without any skill or heart. ****!!

I do love how he has to come out and say he has no intention of staying when all the fans are like, we have no intention of keeping him!

I dont really care how much he goes for, i'd take £10m, but after all the guff that comes out of his mouth we should turn around to his agent and say, well Sissoko is a CL player, he is a french international, he should be winning leagues so nothing less that £20m will do. use his own words against him

So West Ham have Payet, Antonio and Noble all playing well in midfield, why would they want to shell out on a lazy waster like Sissoko?

Can't wait to see the back of him, but if he's gonna come out with arrogant statements like this, it would be quite amusing if they force him to stay and make him play with the U18s.

In other news Fat Dan Gosling has run more than anyone else in the league. How can it be? How can he do nothing for 3 years and then that?

    Pardewed?

He never had a problem running around when he was fit. he just didn't do it very quickly. More than anything he had serious injury problems.

But yeah Pardew may as well take the blame for that too. I mean he did force feed HBA chicken cottage meals afterall.

£10m is way too cheap for Sissoko. French international, years left on his contract, has a good reputation (bizarrely), EPL money about to go through the roof. Sorry, not enough.

I think we'll want more than 10m. What is he worth? Whatever people are willing to pay, and there will be people willing to pay decent believing they can get the best out of him. The reality is when you have watched him week in week out is he is pretty lazy and too thick/mentally challenged to fulfill the physical potential he has.

£15m for Sissohno, £10m for Gini and £7m for Janmaat. Shouldn't accept anything less than that in my book!
