My (vague) memory of the season Wimbledon were relegated, is that they struggled quite badly all that season and were always at the bottom?
It was under Joe Kinnear's wise guidance that they were a ruthlessly top team that other teams dreaded playing, if they did not go down in they season they stood second they came mightily close. Happened around the time of his heart attack.
Like I said, mate, I wasn't sure myself just my memory of them being relegated is different to yours. I'll have a check and see if I can dig anything up because I want to know now.
Wimbledon went down in 2000, the season we finished 7th. They had 22 points when January came around and they were mid-table. Joe Kinnear retired during pre-season with health problems and Egil Olsen took over. They flopped during the last 10 games of the season and only took one point. They were still only relegated on the final day by Bradford winning at Liverpool.
My #11 above. Not often right on old stats, quite possibly a first for me, but Carlisle stood proud at the top of the league in 74/75, winning their first 3 games.
