So he is selling it for a 2.5m loss. Am I missing something or can someone tell me why these business people chose to buy football clubs? Is there anyway they actually make money out of it unless the club wins the league and gets into the Champions league...even then do they really make their money back? Is it just a rich man's way of splashing some cash and gaining status?

He's lost a f*ck sight more than £2.5 million, hundreds of millions in crap players on ridiculous contracts who couldn't give a f*ck. Sound familiar?...

Nigel Pearson likely to be their new manager, we missed a trick not snapping him up when he was available.

He's a ****ing nut job, not the character a club looking for stability needs.

Not sure why this is off-topic as it relates to football and isn't about dead people or immigration (?)

Anyhow, I think that despite their obviously woeful season and the extreme likelihood of losing what few decent players they had Villa might do ok next season. New owners will bring in their own man to run things and if you had the choice of joining a championship side would you go for a Reading or a Fulham (only for example) or Villa who will have a couple of seasons of parachute payments to spend and could get back some of their disillusioned fans now that Lerner has naffed off.

If it is a choice between a bottom half struggler and a club still with a huge supporter base wouldn't you take a chance on the Villans? If the rot within the club really is as bad as some have suggested then they could well disappear up their own firmament but I fancy them to do a decent job after some summer signings and if they get a manager who instills a sense of discipline.
