Correct. It should also be mentioned (if it hasn't been already) that the majority of signings last year were a disaster. Tabanou was virtually unused as was Eder. Nordvelt had one PL game. While Ayew grabbed the headlines for his goals. there was a large part of the season where he was either awol or he unbalanced the team. In effect we had a season in the Prem without any significant signings. This year we have to "double up" just to get to where we should be.
There is no point in replacing players with like for like. The players we get have to be of a better standard or we are wasting our money.....I like the idea of Fer but not hollett and i would be over the moon if we can acquire Redmond or Townsend or both..
Well Fer had a year left on his contract. QPR might want him off the wage bill and to get some money or he will end up going on a free. I'd put a bid in off 4m, Gudio has said he'd like to sign him. Townsend I think will cost a fair bit of wonga!!
I think 4m is probably about right for Fer maybe 3m. Don't think we could get Townsend, but would be more than happy. Read somewhere Hoillett is a replacement for Montero.
Loan Fer if at all possible , QPR won't want to pay his wages . Then when he gets a full season under his belt he will want to stay ...for free . Me too , but Redmond would be a nice touch
I would love to get Redmond here he suits the way we play and he knows where the goal is......I have been very impressed with him all season. Townsend i don't know enough about the style of football he plays but it seems on here he is a good player so i would be happy if we can get him.......What we have to determine is if a player is good for a certain team would he be the same for us. There are far to many examples of players being flops after having a fantastic season with another team the season before.
Here here. I feel if any of our managers trusted him more we would have seen a lot more from him. If he could finish I'd be inclined to build the whole team around him. He could be one the most dangerous players in the league when high in confidence and fully fit. Would be proper gutted to see him go.
Was kinda hoping for another winger already but if Montero goes we might need a pair of wingers .... would prefer to keep Montero frankly , he already knows the drill around the club .
