i know i should be over it by now but i am still hurting over the sale of Fessi. Loan yes, but sale?! It felt wrong at the time, it feels even worse now! Thrilled for him that he is playing, showing what he's capable of and at a club that appreciates him, we didn't deserve him!
A crazy sale IMO..... was this driven by QSF? Given our limitations up front this season the exit of MV and Fessi looks even more odd in retrospect
I think he was too free thinking for QSF, he listened to Troy, who apparently didn't think much of him, though whether that's hearsay or not, who knows. So it's my understanding that between the two of them they were responsible for his departure. We will never know the truth, but it seems as ridiculous a decision now as it did then. Truth is, he never really got his chance with us, glad he's getting it now!
Enjoy the awards evening, we are giving it a miss this year due to cost and location. I think Shendish was a better choice of venue personally.
And given our recent limitations at the back, loaning Pudil to Sheff. Wed may have been a bit hasty too. I wonder if he'll be back in June?
Thank you. I agree, Shendish is a good location, not sure why it's moved but the price is pricing out a lot of people. I think this will be my last one for a while!
I disagree, whilst we all liked his passion and effort, I just do not think he is good or consistent enough to be effective in the Prem. I have watched both play off games and nothing has changed, his decision making is still suspect and he is still prone to jump into tackles. He could not get into our team in the Championship, how would he get considered in a Prem team? But I would agree that Vydra should not have gone out on loan, he should have been our replacement striker. But I do so hope that Sheff Weds smash Dull City - I really do not like that club.
But he can score goals and adds something different. So IMO we should have kept him and tried him... but as we know QSF would not consider that.. so it is speculation
But he did not score goals in the Championship when given the chance - that's why he did not secure a place last season. Several times in the final minutes of the 2nd leg against Brighton when Sheff Weds needed to maintain possession he went on one of those runs trying to beat multiple players that resulted with him on the floor - when they needed for him to pass and make himself available for a return. As I said his decision making is very questionable and I don't think his temperament is suited to the Prem.
Re his scoring.... he scored 1 in 4 for us which is not bad for the position he was played in.... This season for Weds he has scored 1 in two... pretty good... 2012–2013 → Watford (loan) 14 (3) 2013–2015 Watford 66 (17) 2015– Sheffield Wednesday 34 (15) But I agree re his temperament and decision making .... but I would have kept him and tried to mould him. He is certainly a lot better than that fellow Diamenti we signed to replace him
Increase the number of subs on the bench from 7 to 9? I can't see any point in that to be honest. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ier-league-clubs-to-debate-extra-substitutes?
