Aye, typical Newcastle United in that we are up to our necks in it before we act.

This is a great chance now though to put things right....RAFALUTION!

I know these things are never straightforward and negotiations take time, but......
PLEASE JUST OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE RAFA IS STAYING.

Its 75C here in Istanbul. I could have spent the day, in the garden, drinking beer as usual. But no, I have spent the day drinking beer in the house, and continuously updating, Twitter, Newsnow and Not606 so as not to miss the announcement that we have a new Messiah.!! Sacrifices eh??

I sort of go along with that...having been born and bred in the NE....I can on some ways enjoy the mags going down and us playing a part in it...on the other hand they are NE team ( i have rels and friends that support them) and as long as we are ahead of them in the league and beat them in the darbies I want them to be in the top flight.

I also think they wind most other teams fans up by lots of the stuff they come out with....with Rafa we will bounce straight back up and the following season get into the Champions League.
    Which is well...

i would prefer Newcastle to be in the premiership above Hull and Boro, mainly because of the good hearted banter that goes on between us.
Despise Hull and Boro and hope they go down quicker than villa went this year.
Just reading some of the good humoured posts by some of the posters on here, liamO is a real hoot, been fishing all day and caught naff all <laugh><laugh><laugh>

I think if we didn't have each other we'd be lonely...

There are an alarming number of fans who do seem to be assuming we'll get promoted next season. I think we'll have a good chance but there are a lot of good teams down there and whilst I expect us to be top ten I can't with any assurance say I expect anything more than that. To get out of the division you need grit, determination and team-work - any skill needs to be built on those foundations and it is the foundations we have lacked this season (just look at Wij, Sissoko, etc).

As regards getting into the Champions League you're mostly referring to jokers from what I've seen of comments around though I don't doubt there are some people with their head in the clouds. They are allowed to dream but they aren't allowed to be seen to represent the view of the fanbase.

I genuinely believe we will get CL football again before the mackems, despite being a division lower.

Absolutely. Look Hull and Boro are not the size of club as we are (Sunderland and Newcastle), they have very little history, a smaller fanbase and only intermittently bother the top league. I don't have any particular issue with them as fans but as regards North-East teams they're still in the wake of Leeds let alone Newcastle and Sunderland. North-East rivalry is the Tyne-Wear derby (or vice versa if you're bothered by that sort of thing), everything else is a sideshow.

CL football and the mackems in the same sentence just doesn't make sense.

Most definitely are, but being born in South Shields and raised in Hebburn it was either Sunderland or Newcastle that i was going to support.
Started following Sunderland at 6/7 years old because my parents were Sunderland supporters and took me to the games, the rest is history.
Been away from the North East now since 89 but still call it home and i will never follow anyone else, i would imagine the same for you lot as well if you were to ever move away.

Guillhem Balague is the most full of **** plonker on Sky.

He's always got an 'exclusive', that he can barely get out of his slobbering goofy ****ing mouth quick enough.

"Messi is open more than ever to leaving Barthelona"

"Neymar will prothably sign for another club this thummer"

"Thergio Ramos ith a Manthenththther United player"

Somebody just needs to stove his face in with a lump hammer and shut him up.
