    Hello All,

    As I like to a few pounds on the leagues etc I thought I would share them with you here. Has anyone else had a bet on the new season..?

    Tiverton Hornets £5 * 3 doubles and one trebble.

    Championship = Leicester 9/2
    1st Division = Huddersfield 5/1
    2nd Division = Bristol Rovers 10/1

    And my cheeky bet £1 each way on the following.

    Premiership = Man Utd 7/4
    Championship = West Ham 9/2
    1st Division = Huddersfield 5/1
    2nd Division = Bristol Rovers = 10/1
    Scottish Prem = Celtic 4/5
    Scottish Div 1 = Dundee 9/4
    Scottish Div 2 = Brechin 11/4
    Scottish Div 3 = Peterhead 15/8

    If all eight come in first then £63,000 comes the way of the Tivvy Hornet each way would be £111.

    Only time I've ever bet on footy was at the start of 96-97 when we were favourites to win the Division 2 (Lg 1) title. We finished 13th and won it the next season! I haven't bet on footy since.

    For £2 its worth it you never know and it gives you a bit of an interest in the other leagues.

    I don't really know Barry, but think you would look at the three who went down at the end of last season. Of them possibly Vannes, but it does seem that once a team goes down it can be a hard life getting back.

    I did Statistics for "A" Level and we had a young master just out of Uni and he decided it would be good for our understanding to bet on horses. We started a pool at the beginning of term with 2 shillings each (shows my age - that is 10p to most of you) and when we split the pool at the end of term we all got £5

    H - I know your religion of course but do you not celebrate Christmas as a non religious festival - let's face it most atheists do :)
