Should Hull get past Derby tonight then an 'all Yorkshire' final will be a blockbuster.
The League form suggests a 2-1 win to The Tigers over The Owls but different players rise to different occasions and there is an enormous amount of money at stake here.
I have watched both teams regularly and apart from Scottish International left wing-back Andy Robertson I haven't seen any players who would rate better than average at Premier League level. In Hull's 4 seasons in the Promised Land they have finished 17th - relegated - 16th - relegated which by definition classes them as "Premier League Kicking Boys". The owner has said there is no money for players (?) but is currently in discussions (so the Hull Daily Mail would have us believe) with prospective buyers for the Club. Who would buy Hull City with a Council owned Stadium with a capacity of 25,000 people and a debt to the current owners of almost 100 million pounds?
Steve Bruce would crawl on his hands and knees naked (not a pretty site) over broken Newcastle Brown Ale bottles from Hull to Newcastle if Mike Ashley offers him the job whether Hull City win the play-offs or not. I believe he has had a bellyful of Hull, the owners and the fans.
Either way, whoever wins, it's almost a 'home' game for Sunderland.<laugh>

Not one shot on goal throughout the game! Terrible performance.
Although part of me was with Hull I would not want to see them as Premier League Kicking boys next season - been there before (4 times) and it's not pleasant.
The bloke I feel very sorry for is Chris Hughton, Brighton's Manager, who took his team to within a goal of automatic promotion and then, after finishing 15 POINTS IN FRONT of 6th position Sheffield Wednesday, finds his team inched out of the play-offs.
Hull City have little up front. Well done to Hernandez but most of his goals were just tap-ins.
Honestly cannot see The Owls losing the final against the toothless Tigers.

Would like to see Sheff Wed back up in the top flight. A big club with big support.
I'm sure Fat Face would find a way of blaming Sunderland for Hull not making it into the Premiership.

I don't think he could do that Canny.
Never forget the words of this Sunderland Immortal and one of (if not THE) best Managers in the game:

Bruce has bought/loaned some absolute abortions in his time at Hull City and I won't bore everyone by going through them all as they are all well known members of "The School for Not Strikers Arseholes". His big problem is that players he wanted all said "Hull WHO"? "Thanks, but No Thanks" and he has had to put up with players most of who could only be classed as 'on the way down' or 'looking for a swan-song'. To my knowledge he has never built a team that has 'blended' and worked together as a team but has instead left it to a a pack of individuals looking after their own interest. If you watch a replay of last nights game you will see that neither of them has the faintest idea what to do with the ball when they get it and just fart arse around until they lose it. Surely Bruce and Ashley are on the same "Weight-Watchers" diet so MUST know each other.<laugh>
