Thanks lyndhurst but now hoping will be ok. You have to have an activated account to get tickets via phone line as well so the same problem arrises. Just got off phone from Argyle. I sat there for 25 minutes with same music down my ear and message being repeated over and over. Think I may have gone slightly mad now so will warn wife to keep distance for a while. Woman helpful I think but not quite there yet. Apparently my email address was my work one. Considering I've been retired over 7 years I have no idea what passwords etc that had. Now been told that I should follow change password procedure and I will get email with instructions. How if I use old work email address I get a reply to my current machine and email address I just don't know but she was adamant I would. Now waiting for that email to arrive. It said shortly on the message.......is that a janner shortly or the rest of the country shortly?
I would think that most clubs farm out ticketing to a third party....so is it really PAFC that should be getting your anger or the ticketing company doing it on their behalf. Tried again today but same result.....no privileges for me.....so Wednesday hopefully is the day.....can't let Lindy get all the quality seating.
It's the club who tell me I have to "activate" the account when the account keeps telling me it's already active. And I am a customer to PAFC not anyone else so yes it is the club who gets it. Still no email and I suspect I won't get one. You know when you just know it ain't going right...... Son tells me the tickets go on general sale tomorrow and he has an account with ticketmaster already for other tickets he has obtained of the concert variety so if push comes to he will use that. So far I have two seats on a train up and back.
My wife had a brainwave, she would just say it's ordinary female logic. Suggested I phone my mate who we go to Argyle with and see if his account was active. He had the same problem as me yesterday but finally got his sorted out and bought his tickets. So, he just logged in and bought mine so I now have a train ticket to and fro and a Wembley seat.......whooooopppppppeeeeeee!!!! All I have to do is get across London forwards and back on the day. Any bets all the underground is off that day due to snow or something daft. I still say Argyle need to look at themselves and become a bit more helpful. I think the info the woman gave me who I spoke to earlier was duff and she was talking out of rear end. Will be telling Argyle what I think at some point in the near future.
The difficulty is of course compounded because the PAFC/TicketMaster part of the system is interfacing across to the Wembley system for the seating plan, pricing etc. That doesn't seem to be where Sensible has had problems of course, which is getting access to the ticket purchasing in the first place. Perhaps they've been monitoring his comments about Mr. Brent.
Going off on a tangent a little but still with a Wembley theme. Brighton must be smarting at the moment.....missed out on automatic promotion by only 2 goals over Middlesboro. Lose on aggregate to Sheffield Wednesday 3-1in the play-off semi-final.....yet they where 15pts clear of them after 46 games in the league.....thats the equivalent of 5 wins in front.
Yes, and I note that Accrington fans are already moaning about the 'unfairness' of the system. To be honest I think they need to be approached with the mindset that there is one competition for the auto promotion positions and a separate one for the playoff positions. All this tosh about the 4th team being 10-15 points ahead of the 7th is irrelevant really -bottom line is that if you finish 4th you failed in the primary objective of auto promotion. I like the play offs - at least it keeps more teams interested for more of the season. I do feel sorry for Brighton though, but only because i have a soft spot for them and they obviously helped us in our hour of need.......but thems the rules!! BTW train and official coach details now on the Argyle website if anyone needs them.
Sensible, the buses will be running.. Now go online and get an oyster card for your tube travel or you will be queing at machine all day and its cheaper.. If you struggle i have 2 cards here with credit on.. Or you can use a contactless debit card? Let me know as i can drop them off as you may get confused doing that online.. glad you now have your tickets and the train sorted.. Also work out your tube route, but needless to say there will be thousands in the stations
Thanks for the offer Joe. I'm going with son so he has more sense than me when it comes to online things. I think we will be ok and will mention to him about online oyster card. I have often looked at buses in london and thought about it. Trouble is I never know which side of the road I should be standing to get one there and which ones go in which direction. I see there is a travel planner site so might have a proper look at that and see how we go. Train gets to London at around 11.20 so plenty of time to get from A to B. Train booked for 8 30 pm return so should be fine for that as well. Everything is so bleddy complicated these days isn't it. Last time we just booked the ticket and coach together at the Argyle shop. It was easy once you'd found the coach number you had been given. I saw the travel bit on the Argyle site earlier. Notice there is no actual talk of coaches from plymouth and as far as I can see only about 4 from Cornwall which will stop at Plymouth to fill up. Last time there wasn't a coach to be hired in Devon or Cornwall as the club hired them all in for the fans. I hope they have read my comments about Brent notdistant. The lack of help from the club is yet another sign of his caring nature. You all know as well as I do that as a supporter we put up with a lot of crap from the clubs. Any other business would die due to lack of customers if it did what football does. I have to say if this was anything else then I would be beating the door down for a refun on my next season ticket and telling them to shove it. I finally got an email from the club this evening in reply to my " HELP" plea. I was originally trying everything. They said tickets were being bought through ticketmaster so therefore........(you kind of know the rest of that). They had changed my email to the one I'd used to email them to help. That would mean I didn't have a password so would have had to go through the forgotten password route once more which didn't work in the first place. So pick out the easy bits to answer and forget the rest leaving me no better off than before. I will be telling them what I think because they need to be told. I suspect I won't be the only one doing that either. Just because I got it sorted for tickets eventually that isn't the point. It was me that sorted everything and they did very little apart from give me duff info when I phoned. That must have cost as it was about 25 to 30 minutes for nothing. If you'd got the job you would have had a letter from me lyndhurst. How lucky were you.....
Ok, well if you dont get it sorted let me know as you can use these.. As i am always up and around london.. The buses are fine. My son is on that train and was worried if it went to extra time, but it will be fine. Well it will be a bit hectic but im sure it will be worth it. been a long wait 2o years ..
Extra time would take it up to about 5 30 so that would still give 3 hours to get to Paddington. Penalties however is another story........ You being a Spurs man will know the significance of a certain number in the year. Didn't Spurs always have a one at the end at one time? Well 6 must be Argyle's number for play off games. He says clutching at any straw there is. The biggest pain travelling wise on that day is the Bakerloo trains not stopping at Paddington. That is the easiest route to Wembley I remember from staying in Wembley a little while back. The buses are ok if you recognise where they are going and where they leave from. Wouldn't cost me anything on that. Anyway, I'm going to have a scout about and plan a route before we go. Nothing ruled out or in at the moment. If the game went on too long I'd even fork out for a cab back to Paddington if I had to. It's only money.
Just in case anyone else reads this, there definitely are coaches from HP leaving at 0700. The cornish coaches are in additional to those leaving from the club.Admittedly you have to read the piece on the website carefully to work this out but the coaches are definitely running.
I only skimmed it to be fair as I've done the train thing already but have to say I didn't see that. I know there are 3 GT coaches but didn't see any others advertised or how many if it was there.
I've just re-read the travel bit on the Argyle site and have to say you could be forgiven for thinking there may not be any coaches. It is very pooorly put over. It mentions the 4 Cornwall coaches and their routes with the final stop being Home Park at the 7am time. But says if full will just go straight through. It mentions one price so presume that is the same from anywhere in Cornwall you pick it up and from Home Park. I can't see where it says there are other coaches from the ground itself. Not disputing there are by the way just think somebody needs to write their facts a bit more clearly.
Sensible you've used an email address you no longer have access to. We all do things like that but it's hardly the club's fault. PS Now I am worried myself - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36260404
Tickets bought..........started at block 226 (where Lindy is) and kept moving along until I could find four seats together....eventually booking four in block 222......the best I could do with my privilege level. I was expecting it to open up at 9am....others on other sites suggested that was the time general sales would start. Check at 6-30am not available.....checked again at 7-45am and I was already placed in a queue ?......15 minute wait to get to the front of the queue and I was in.....I thought I might get timed out the amount of time I ponced around trying to find four seats together.....that has happened to me in other situations and that can be so frustrating having to start all over again, but that didn't happen. At least I don't have to spend out on travel or even hotels.....so £24 plus fees is good for a trip to Wembley.....I wasn't expecting to pay only half price.....league games are only a few £'s cheaper than full price PS.....Didn't seem to be any limitation on number of seats you could buy.
Just checked ticket availability since booking.....222/221/220/219/218/ and onwards have literally all been snapped up accept for odd seats. At 7-45 this morning there was plenty of seats available in these areas....not anymore.....rumour has it that Argyle have had 25,000 seat allocated at the moment and it will go up to 35,000 when needed.
Yes notdistant I did and you are right that isn't their fault. But, when I tried to rectify things and get it right the club rep I spoke to gave me completely duff info and help. If I had sat back and waited I would have got nowhere. That's poor. There must have been a load of people like me who had given an address initially email wise when first getting membership who don't get tickets to other games usually. Having changed the email thing they long forgot passwords etc. which is not surprising after several years is it. This one person who "advised" me would presumably been doing the poor advice bit all day. I have since received a reply to an email I sent to Argyle telling me the things I knew already but at least changing the email address to my current one. I still think they aren't doing much for supporters and what they are doing is probably days late. Coaches should have been advertised immediately not several days after the match. Don't tell me they couldn't put plans in place on a just in case basis. I doubt Brent would wait for the lift in a hotel to fall through the floor if he knew it was dodgy without having a plan in place for repair.
