Titus Bramble was hard, that's what got him into so much trouble...

I can't think of many hard players in the Premiership in the last 10 years. Cattermole, Shawcross, Tiote, no chance. Not compared to 20+ years ago. Only player I've seen us have in the Premiership who was hard was Ferguson and possibly Ketsbaia as he was ****ing mental. Cana was the one I was thinking of from Sunderland.

Good shout, Jim didn't take many prisoners, but football was different then, hard players wouldn't get their tracksuit tops off in today's football before the Referee would be having a word, different times.

Disagree, mate. He always stood his ground and never seemed bothered by anybody that squared up to him.

The sign of a confident man who knows what ability he has...

This left jab he puts on Rooney, is right on the button. I wouldn't want a hook off the ****er <yikes>

It's a peach of a punch for sure but he didn't throw any on the pitch (fortunately for us) and other than that it was just a lot of squaring up.

Maybe tougher than I give him credit for but not in the same league as your likes of Rae and Keane.

One of Bardsleys mates is a professional boxer (I cant remember his name).
Bardsley said in an interview once that away from football he spends alot of time in his boxing gym training and sparring.

I think he would have battered them two. I just think hotheads like them two, who basically go around a pitch pushing and kicking people, would get destroyed by somebody like Bardsley, who has the mentality for a proper fight and years of boxing training behind him.

Most likely he could out box them but that wasn't an option on the pitch. I'm sure there's hairdressers and whatnot who've been taking boxing classes for years and could put Keane on his arse but it doesn't automatically make them hard cases.

I always thought of him as a gritty player but there's lots of them, he never stood out to me as being a nutter.
