I'm pleased. I know that my knowledge of her is limited and based on a stunning voice, a stunning single (written by Prince) and a stunning looking lady from when I was a sad soppy muppet in my very late teens, but she always struck me as an incredibly talented lady, if a little nuts.
Always and a soft spot for her.

 

Hard not to be taken in by this performance. Even her eyes look sad.

 

I wish we could have a lot more evenings like this in this country, with a glass of wine!

 

The director took (I think) seven takes of the bit where she cries and she cried every single time.

One of my favourite songs. Saw her at Glasto in the late 90's, she was superb.

 

Have a dreadful confession....am supposed to be on a diet and my son is a terrible nag. His girlfriend had a big box containing a few left over chocolates....and I ate them. Being of a crafty nature, I went to Thorntons and bought some replacements....transferred them to the big box and assumed I had got away with it. This evening she sat down and began to eat said chocolates. 'Funny,' she said. 'None of them match the pictures.'

I'd only bought the wrong chocolates.

 

Why couldn't you just wait until you'd been to Thornton's before you started eating.?

 

That involves self control. And the worse thing is...I don't even like Thorntons!

No doubting the talent, but her mental state has been getting worse and worse recently. She's not a terribly nice person these days, and an absolute horror to work with - I know an ex manager of hers very well, and her last touring guitarist. The stories, though laced with understanding of her problems, are not great.

Sadly she was always someone who was not at all equipped emotionally or mentally for fame. Delighted she's been found safe and well though.

Tell her to write to Thorntons and they'll probably send some freebies!!!

List of renewed and cancelled American TV shows. I didn't realise till I went through them that I hardly watch any American shows....Unlike in the past. The only ones of interest to me were: Episodes (last series), Castle (cancelled, but had really reached the end anyway), Fargo (renewed) and Modern Family (renewed).

 

Good for you. I've gone the opposite route and had the worst month ever. I won't list everything, you'll all be crying your eyes out. However, the football has been the saviour and when things are really bad and you go and beat Spurs well, the world just becomes a better place.
