New levels of delusion. Top 6 of the Premiership next season apparently. On a side note, good to see the wumming has been getting under Dorty's skin. He's beeled the entire thread.
Haven't been reading so much lately, but the Newcastle fans seem to be taking relegation and the mocking in good nature. I said a month ago if someone offered me Rafa or relegation, I would have taken it in a shot. I'm delighted it looks like he's seriously considering staying. Mind you, this is Newcastle and there's time for us to mess up. Onwards and upwards. NUFC till I die.
You lads have took it very well, a couple of Sunderland fans have come in and lit fireworks and it only seems to have irritated a couple. Twitter is a different matter though. There's been hell on. From offering out fights to a martin fulop attack. Been very messy and very very public. Rafa been talking about head and heart. He want's full transfer control or forget it imo. Don't blame him. You've all recognised the problem with your recruitment and so will he. Down to Ashley to change some policies. Will he be stubborn? You're own media partner is leaking alternatives. Could go either way I reckon. You can tell he wants to stay, but only on his terms. Short scrapped his recruitment policy for Sam, Ashley needs to do it for Rafa and hand him the control.
You need to bear in mind though Bri... Twitter and facebook attracts all kinds and normally they represent a very small minority. It's the same with the Chelsea fans who harassed John Terry, the Mackem fans who (post conviction) still openly supported and joked about AJ and our very own Steve Wraith who projects himself as the spokesperson for the 'Toon Army' whilst carrying a pathetic chip board coffin around Barrack road.. They can be a focal point for piss taking.... or an utter embarrassment to their fellow fans.
Not particularly amusing or original (had they not already done one?), but jesus wept its hardly something to get upset about. If they have the cash to burn then why not (I believe one individual paid for it in the main). I'm sure I read it sparked some NUFC/SAFC fans to combine for some charity raising work, so its done something good regardless. We'll have had our digs when they've gone down. If you can't laugh in our situation then you need your head tested. We've been comically poor. And our attempts to rectify the situation late in the day and not learning from last time is equally comical. Personally I think Rafa is mad as *****ose to take us on. Of course we all want him too, he is a perfect fit. But lets face it he is way better than Newcastle at the best of times, nevermind when we are making such an arse of things.
Don't patronize me fella. I know what Twitter is about ****ing Monty knows what Twitters about. Merely stating there's been hell on that's all. Top 6 of the prem next season is "very likely". That didn't come from twitter. It came from a nufc blog. Strange and deluded to say the least. Most bizzare comments and choice of focus yet.
**** me. I know we all think Rafa is good, but not even God could get us to finish in the top 6 of the Premier League when we're not even in it next season! As you know better than most Bri, the beauty of blogs is that they are rarely written by experts. The vast majority are written by normal fans who love their clubs, and the reason they are so entertaining is that they reflect the full spectrum of opinions. Some opinions are better informed than others, but there is nothing wrong with fans dreaming or being optimistic. Every club in the Premier League should aspire to finish in the top 6. Most clubs have the possibility of finishing in the top 6 if they have a good year and the stars align. The few usual suspects can start a season thinking they are likely to finish in the top 6, but no club should ever start a season thinking they are very likely to finish there. Man United, Chelsea and Liverpool should have taught everyone that lesson.
Yes, I know how fan blogs work. Any more common knowledge wisdom lads. Checking my posts I don't think I claimed fan blogs to be experts in any way.
