    Starts: 22
    Goals: 9
    Assists: 4
    Yellows: 4
    Reds: 2

In a relegated side would you say those are good or bad stats?

Obviously the cards are a big worry but a lot of players take time to adapt. I firmly believe that a season in the Championship will be the making of him like it was with Jose, Jonas and Colo.

The way he buried that header was Shearer-esque and shows that with service he will thrive.

He'll get better. Someone said that his stats were comparable to Martial so he can't be that bad. He has certainly squandered too many good chances though. But you have to say that he is at least getting into those positions so he deserves some credit. Knob head for the temperament though. The sending off was a total disgrace yesterday.

    Agreed.
He seems a confidence player big time.

    I'm not convinced with him.
2nd or 3rd choice maybe, but, it would be madness to go into the Championship with him as the main striker.
He's going to miss the first three and possibly more games anyway, so he'd have to force himself into the team.
If its Rafa in charge, I think he'll be down the pecking order, if he even wanted to keep him.

Very good stats, IMO - involved in more than a goal every other game is not too bad at all. And with a bit more about him he'd have scored 3 or 4 more. He'll never be a ridiculous goal threat a la Andy Cole or Alan Shearer, he's not mobile enough, but he's got a LOT about him. Perfect for 4-2-3-1 I think, so if Rafa stays, so does Mitrovic, and he'll be preferred striker with 2nd striker options to support like Arma and Perez.

I don't think Rafa rates him, otherwise he'd have played him rather than Cisse.
That's says a lot for me, and yesterday wouldn't have done him any favours.
Whoever the manager is will be wanting a 20+ goal striker as first choice, so I just don't see it with him.

Hmm, not sure. I think Rafa wanted Cisse to run himself into the ground, and the opposing defenders with it, before bringing in Mitro after 60 mins to create problems. That was his attempt with the limited games we had. It didn't come off, and it wasn't Rafa's fault because when Mitro was getting the chances he fcked it. But he's young. We were probably doomed before Rafa came in. If we'd hammered Villa 8-0 we'd still have gone down.

It took Shola 15 years to get stats like that.

I find it difficult to believe you want a player that the manager knows he cannot risk for 90 mins on the field , would anyone deny he is a loose cannon

I am not sure he will change his style of play. I think he revels in his reputation a litlle bit too much. He is no Costa. I don`t think he will be a good fit for the style of play that Rafa will advocate, he is too immobile at the minute and i cant see him changing that style. He will be an impact sub for the last 30 minutes or so of a game..

    I like Mitrovic.
Gutted we went down but he can play a big part getting us up.

tbf that red on Saturday was a bit of isolated one; he began like an absolute psycho - yellow card a few seconds into his debut, another the next game, red a few minutes into the next...but he massively calmed down after that and seemed to adjust quickly.

I think he'd destroy teams in the Championship, like Carroll did in 09/10, and then be ready to tear up the Prem afterwards.

I'm going to give the lad the benefit of the doubt and say maybe the sending off on Sunday was more clumsy than malicious? He tried to shield the ball from Walker but his clumsiness got in he way....big style.

He deserved to go though, it was a definite red.

Regarding the penalty, Sissoko got major stick on MOTD but having looked on the replay I think the ref gave it for the push that he got in the back from the Spurs defender and not Erikson's foot which didn't trip him.

He still went down easily though, either way :cheesy:

Agree with this, i watched it a few times from a few angles. Not once does Mitrovic look at Walker he uses his leg to protect the ball, but because of the way he landed on him it's a red irrelavent of intention. Its very similar to his first red against Arsenal. I also believed there was no intention there either, just pure clumsiness. There are times he gets heated and if he hadnt of given the ref a death stair 2 mins before he might of stayed on the pitch, but his a 20 year old striker who has contributed to 13 goals this season despite not starting in every game and a lot of cameo roles, If Armstrong had done the same, we would be having a Not606 Orgy

No I can't agree with this, he knew full well what he was doing and is not shielding the ball, you can see on replays that he checks where Walker is before hand, he was already steaming, again if you look at a prior incidence he fronts the referee and his face is just pure menace. I can't see him keeping control in the Championship and he is not mobile enough, his finishing is not that good either, as for the stats he may have started 22 games but he has actually played in 34 games as he came on as sub in 12 matches, so in reality 9 goals from 34 matches, including international and cup matches he played a total of 40 games and scored 10 goals during the season, I would have more hope in Armstrong to be honest in the Championship.

He is decent at present but no more. Very young though for the type of striker he is. A lot will depend on how he is coached (mentally too) and how he responds to the coaching. He has a lot to learn but their are some raw materials to work with. I think he'd score a lot of goals in the championship and it could be the making of him.
