    Well they got close enough for one of the disposal team on 5live this morning to describe it and say it's weight was consistent with being packed with explosive (he lifted it to check), therefore a decision was made to carry out a controlled explosion in situ.
    He would probably have noticed the big red tag at that point and called the company to check before blowing it up.

    No idea what Woodward is saying, I am just going off the actual disposal team who checked it out and failed to see a big red tag with a company name and phone number, even when they lifted it up and examined it. Either that or they just like blowing things up <ok>

    It was a white tag.

    It's not the police's job to know that there's a training company called SSMS who did tests a few days ago so a device with SSMS written in it might be related to that. It's Woodward's.

    Don't know. IMO most likely scenario is someone at Man Utd figured it out between raising the alarm and the police inspection and removed the tag anyway because it had already gone too far to back out.
