5 being top flight, I presume that means before and including the Prem era? If Prem era only I'd say Dwight Yorke, if top flight in general then no idea.
When I came across this question I thought exactly the same thing - and I think we could claim to have found the 7th England captain in that team - but Watson last played for them in 1981 and left for Stoke in January 1982
