I have been spending far too long on this site and have been stung by the impetuousness of youth.

Seriously though, I wonder what those guys are thinking? Lovren I suspect hates us as much as we hate him and he's happy to get his kicks hearing 'You've Never Walk Alone' on the kop every other week. Credit where its due, he has at least started to put in some decent (slightly above average) performances so is starting to win some fans over. Clyne I think is doing OK but will be bitterly disappointed if they end up with no European games. The fans are very fickle and his status is has slightly declined in their eyes after a very promising start.

Lallana is the one that has been found out in my book. Clearly a talented footballer who gives 100% for the club but his end product is barely EPL level. The fans are very undecided (around 40% think he is crap, 40% think he is average, and the remaining 20% think he a genius). The fans would probably like to see more goals and less Cruyff turns. I think they may well upgrade that position in the summer when he will become surplus to requirements. He is the one of the three who is likely to have regrets over his move. His career is going downhill and I'm not sure he has the character to recover.

None of them care about us and have moved on. We should do the same.

Which sort of makes me wonder why you clicked on the thread.....

That aside, the reason I was asking the question was that we've also seen Callum Chambers disappear into obscurity and Morgan has not exactly set the world on fire. So for current first team players who believe the bigger wage packet goes with greener grass, they should think carefully before they jump ship.

I do envy the Dutch fans who enjoy their football so much they also take great satisfaction seeing player do well after they leave. English fans do seem to be very bitter and vitriolic lot by comparison.

I clicked on the thread because I can and because we should move on. My point wasn't aimed at you, it was at the thread as a whole. All 3 are playing for a bigger club and on more cash. Chambers gets to live in London on 60k a week for playing reserve team footy. I doubt he minds that either.

Far too grown up. Leave me wallowing in my immature bitterness thanks; I like it :frown:

Agreed. At the end of the day, we would all do the same in their position.

None of those players supported saints as a boy. It's not like they had saints in their hearts from the start. The only one I am still bitter about is Lallana personally - he was the only defector that owed the club some loyalty.

Not entirely true. It depends how and when the player leaves to a large extent. I'd be happy to see Chambers back. I thought he was equally as good as Clyne. I've said before how painfully one-footed Clyne is and it certainly has an influence on how Liverpool are forced to play when the ball is on the right.

Good tune, that. More of a Patsy Cline fan myself, but Connie Frances is definitely up there <ok>

"I haven't closed the door on Lovren for good," said Cacic, who took over for Croatia's final two qualifiers.

"He can return one day if he realises that he has to be a team player."

He added: "When it dawns on him that he can't look down on his team-mates, the staff and the coach, he will perhaps find a way to get back in."

Agreed. I'de leave the door open for most of them but especially any of the Arsenal players - Chambers, Ox, Theo... But in reality I don't think the fans would ever forgive Lovren and Lallana.

It's all about their manner of leaving in the end. Pundits and commentators who appear confused, every time the Saints crowd boo Lallana, never actually bother to find out. I think I've only heard Claridge get within spitting distance of calling it correctly.

Personally, I find myself still a bit cheesed off with Shaw, certainly Chambers, I even felt a chilling in my heart at the time when Rickie left, but that's long since died away. I don't like to think about Morgan's outburst when he wanted to leave and was told he couldn't go for another season. Oxlade-Chamberlain felt no need to stay for a season when he was needed, just to say thanks for nurturing him. The kids that jump ship at the first opportunity I have little time for, I'm afraid. Even Walcott doesn't figure too high in my estimation. Nor Bale for that matter although, tbf, I must remind myself that those two were from a different time when Saints badly needed the money. Nobody needs to tell me the others couldn't have turned down the opportunity, just for one year, because the truth is they had a choice. They were always going to have clubs coming for them and they could had stayed one more season and then gone. But they acted totally selfishly. People will point to the huge amounts of money we got. We would probably have got a bit more had they impressed in the next season for Saints, so there's always the alternative view.

As the seasons pass I'll gradually think better of them no doubt, if I can be bothered. If they returned I'd certainly welcome them back, provided they had plenty of years left. No end of career rejects need apply. Theo and Gareth would get a warm welcome indeed. Oxo could finish what he started and become the player he was going to be. One player who could get stuffed entirely though is Lovren. They all of them pale into insignificance against him. I even much prefer Osvaldo to that mercenary, so that's saying something. At least Osvaldo was pushed out the door, he didn't run at the first opportunity.

We finished 6th. It's not like we actually won anything.
