    Great post on LUFC forum.

LVG has been arrested re the bomb incident at Old Trafford.

The dumb ****er misunderstood the Instruction from the Glazers.

They told him they wanted him to go out with a bang.

    Seen a few of those.

They're hot air blowers for drying your hands.

Why do they say the game was abandoned? Surely it was postponed or cancelled? I would think an abandoned match would have started.
I think it should be played on monday night. They don't want it too near the FA Cup final and playing it after the FA Cup final would prolong the season a lot - especially for Bournemouth.

Is it possible that they won't replay it? Seems like a lot of inconvenience for little purpose.

I doubt it. It would mess up the leagues records. It's not like it was abandoned at half time or later.

Suspicious package at Old Trafford identified as a ‘trophy’

Police evacuated Old Trafford earlier after a suspicious package later identified as a ‘trophy’ was discovered at the ground.

A spokesman for Manchester United confirmed they had no idea how the trophy came to be at Old Trafford and it definitely wasn’t theirs.

Groundsman Simon Williams told us how he made the discovery.

“My suspicions were first aroused when I saw this big gold cup with Barclays ribbons on it just lying about, and I thought ‘There’s no reason that should be there’.

“Clearly nobody at Manchester United would have something like that nowadays, so it must have been brought in by an outsider.”

The owner of the trophy has not been identified, although police are confident it did not originate in Manchester.

Security services are understood to be wanting to talk to a man they describe as ‘suspicious’ as CCTV footage shows him as not having any tattoos on his neck.

Police described the evacuation of the ground as extremely orderly.

“It was dead easy,” we were told.

“We just put the new Stone Roses single on and everyone went home.”

If the result could affect final placings it could mean a few mill to Bournemouth maybe?

It still affects the european places.

Southampton are currently in 5th, Man Utd are not in Europe whatsoever as it stands.

The bomb was a fake, though the bomb squad have described it as 'incredibly lifelike'.

I wouldn't be surprised if Man Utd put out a second string - but they still need a draw to be certain of Europa League

Turns out the "bomb" was a fake training device forgotten by a security firm who carried out an exercise a few days ago. Oops.

    **** me. <doh>

Reports are now saying it was a device used by a security company in an exercise to test ground security, and they forgot to take it out when they'd finished.

Sadly it probably will. A bad mistake but a human error, these things can happen.

If somebody made a mistake and it cost you a large deal of money would you want to be compensated or would you say "anybody can make a mistake, keep your money"?
I don't think it would have been too onerous to keep a register of "devices" handed out and returned.
