Brown i agree with, O'shea, i'd keep him as Kabul isn't going to go a full season without injury. Unless Sam has plans to bring in more cover?
What about "sick note" Rodwell, surely we can palm him off to some unsuspecting mug as " loads of potential but needs game time"
Players I think will go. Pantilimon Brown VerginI Coates (had his loan extended) Yedlin Larsson Bridcutt Mvila (think he'll get a better offer abroad) Buckley Ndoye (zero chance of any deal there) Think Rodwell and Jones will stay for squad depth but we'd be silly not to listen to offers if someone is daft enough. I wonder if the mags would be interested in a couple of our out of contract players. Fletcher would tear that league apart and Larsson would be an above average championship midfielder
Agree with brown has to go, o'shea (coaching roll) and as you say Kabul 15 - 20 game's , two ctr. half's required
Fletcher isn't our player any more, his contract expires v soon so is a free agent, like Graham. Pants left earlier in the season as well mate. Coates has had is loan extended also
Pantilimon - was sold in January Brown - Agree, although I hope he'll be given a coaching role VerginI - Agree, he's done well in Spain apparently, hopefully they make it permanent Coates (had his loan extended) - Hopefully he goes on a permanent after that! Yedlin - Think we might have him back if the price is right. I wouldn't want us to pay more than £3 - £4m for him though. Larsson - I'd be happy for him to stay, decent cover for all CM positions. Bridcutt - Please **** off. Mvila (think he'll get a better offer abroad) - Basically no foreign club can match our wages, and no Prem club higher than us will want him imo. He'll be ours next year barring a silly-money offer from China or something. Buckley - See Bridcutt Ndoye (zero chance of any deal there) - I'm worried. Read when we signed him he had an Alvarez-esque autobuy clause in the loan deal. ****ing hope not, mind. I don't think anyone will be daft enough to come in for Jones or Rodwell. To add to the list I think Lens will be off, and (thank ****) Toivenen will be Rennes' problem again.
I can't really fault Yedlin on current form. Our back 4 and defence have been solid. Sam said the sam on Goal on Sunday this morning. Unless we can sign a proven full back anyone from abroad is a bit of an unknown. I think Yedlin will improve too, he already has improved massively so I would not be unhappy if we signed him. I think Mvila will stay, he has said he wants to stay so if the club can offer the wages he wants I can't see there being an issue. Ayew would be a great signing. Sam said on Sky he wants to sign a goal scoring midfielder, an attacking wide man a striker and a fullback. He also said they needed to be first choice players and he was not interested in squad players at this stage. I think that probably means he will bring some of the young players into the first time squad.
Rely on JoS as first choice cover for Younis and we are in another relegation fight no mistake. I think Jos is only cover for Big Jan in the midfield holding role at best, keep him well away from CD where he is a night-mare. Sorry to be negative but to consider JoS as a key defender in this league is suicidal.
If he wants an attacking wide player does that mean the end for Lens? I certainly hope not. I'd rather they tried to resolve whatever the problem is that kept him out of the first team since Allardyce arrived. Whatever it is, it can't be ability. As for Brown in a coaching role, I'd have doubts about his character and suitability for such a role.
Agree with that. I suspect the wandering about waiting to show the clever stuff while the others do the donkey work might have something to do with it. Sam won`t put up with that. If he bucks his ideas up and puts some work in then yes. Otherwise, gone. Just my opinion of course.
I think Lens will be off personally. JOS would be 4th choice CB for me, he can do a job but we should be signing someone else as main cover. Lets not forget JOS has not been too bad under Sam and he is experienced. Its difficult to sign players who will just be squad player who can come in and do a decent job. I have no doubt we will sign a centre back as Brown's contract will not be renewed and we can't do a full season with only 3 centre halves. Clark from Villa would be my choice, he is popular with the villa fans and they are talking about making him captain next year. He would be an excellent 3rd choice CB and would not be expensive. I think we need to go all out to sign a goal scoring midfielder, it's what we have been crying out for for years. If we are also going to sign Ayew (who won't be cheap) we need to look at low budget high quality signings for some of the other positions.
The other possibility is that he wants a wide player because he's thinking about moving someone who's been playing there inside to provide more attacking power. Khazri would be the ideal candidate for that- he played at 'number 10' for Bordeaux and Allardyce used Downing in that role during his last season at West Ham. Whether that happens or not, I agree we need a goalscoring midfielder so that the square peg that is Cattermole can be taken out of the round hole he's been playing in.
