Yet again football fans lose out in that scenario, why should every entry point be controlled and football fans be searched every single game? Football fans get painted out as potential terrorists because of 1 incident in the last 20 years. 1 incident which could simply be some dozy twat leaving his gym bag on the side while he goes to the toilet creating mass panic inside the stadium.

 

Well obviously it will depend on what was left...if as you say it's just a forgotten bag that security missed...it might just be a slap round that grounds security team or police etc..

If it's a viable device then you have to decide on the balance of risk...

Over here it was a specific ploy...leave a real device, then whether it kills or not you can phone in five hoaxes and security has to treat it as real...if they don't then the terrorists see the security weaknesses and plant another real device.

Entry points to any big place are always controlled..it doesn't necessarily mean body searching everyone...it just means better pre game ground checks and targeting people with bulges big enough for a device.

Harsh on Howe.. Bournemouth arguably the smallest team to ever play in the Prem, lost their main striker after 3:4 games, lost their 2 record signings in same game just after for whole season and he's kept them up. Manager of the season in most other cases

I'm all for security but not if it ruins the match going experience, because football fans are often treated like criminals before anything even happens. Look at stuff like the "coach bubble" crap away fans have to deal with regularly. Paying over the odds for a ticket so I can get treated like a criminal is not something I'm not the slightest bit interested in.
