Not disagreeing...just saying that the Saturday final is very recent...think it's been less than a decade...Chelsea lost the 2008 CL final to united on a Wednesday
Spurs have suffered the same effect as Brighton, Walsall & Accrington in the leagues below. Miss out on the big prize and it's hard to be motivated in the games that follow.
I don't know what's more hilarious? Us getting spanked 5-1 by a 10 man team that has been relegated or Arsenal fans celebrating like they have won the league?
What's almost as shameful is the sorry spectacle of 'Pool and United fans whoring themselves and their pride out to join Arsenal's cause in mocking us! Have United and 'Pool really fallen that low. I'm sure we'll get a couple of Chav jibes, too. I won't count Spanners, as they have never been true rivals of ours.
I reckon that's the 20th time we've beaten you in the Premier League lads. Don't worry though, it won't happen next season
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino: "First of all I would like to apologise to our fans, I think they don’t deserve all that happened today on the pitch and I apologise. It was a shame and diffcult to understand "In the last couple of weeks when you do not play with 100 per cent it is impossible to win games and after Chelsea something happened. We cannot manage games in the right way. "I am very disappointed because our fans don’t deserve it, it is difficult to go tonight and see my boys and my wife. I think it is unbelievable and we are very disappointed. "We had the possibility to stay second and how we lost and how we gave to the opponent that is relegated, in the first and second half, they score three goals with 10 players it is the worst day as a manager and I feel very disappointed. We need to be sure that never happens again and need to improve our mentality. We were on holiday and that is the reality."
Telling it how it is, but I hope that he has a look at himself as well as the players, as he has to take some responsibility. He's done well this season, but if the players are on holiday, then that's partially on him.
Pochettino raising the bar again on what a top-flight manager should be saying after such games. I would like to comment more on the interview, but ... I did not see it.
I am glad he didn't try to hide behind the penalty and the injury to walker...very honest response and fills me with confidence that he wants to push us further because he has high standards
Reassuring words, always good to see that he's identified the problems, now just to address them before next season. Wouldn't expect any less from him with how he's done Much better than Wenger blaming the fans
Hang on, I have a protest coming in. Some Spanners are claiming their 1-0 over Spurs at Lego Towers trumps the aforementioned.
Big respect mate, today was one of those days for you. You've been marvellous all season and I'd love to see you win it next season.
