That last performances was spine chilling Incredible. Sometimes the populace can rise to send a message
Not sure that was the reason Facto I think all of a sudden the people of Europe made a political statement
Sadly it's been a fix for years. We never do well because the Europeans don't like us (not a political comment just remember after Blairs wars they all went against us). The Eastern Europeans block vote and that's why they always seem to do well. One year was so cringe-worthy even the late great Wogan called it a sham. The fact that the 2 English lads had one of the best songs and ended up 3rd from bottom says it all. The funny thing is....... who gets that contest the best sponsorship deals and pumps in most of the money?
Bloody hell Beth you must have been psychic! Conspiracy theory for you Ellers..... We are on high alert...the reason is the Eurovision Song Contest In tonights Eurovision song contest, the Ukraine song 1944 will win...due to the twitter campaign for everyone to vote for it . From Wiki:- "1944" is the first Eurovision Song Contest song to feature lyrics in the Crimean Tatar language. The Ukrainian entry caused controversy and garnered international media interest both for Jamala, a Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar descent, and the song "1944", which was inspired by the story of her great-grandmother during the 1944 deportation of the Crimean Tatars in the Soviet Union under the rule of Joseph Stalin. So following this song winning ...Russia will invade Ukraine in retaliation.....starting WW3 So Clever Dave has put the military on high alert
I've never got the notion of political voting. I assume there's a panel of drab judges for each country and then there's a squad of armed assailants telling them to vote for Armenia because of the Cod Wars. I heard the Georgian one a couple of days ago and quite liked it but watched The Good, the Bad and the Ugly on DVD while my other half watched the full event. I use it as a chance to watch a nice long film each year.
It was very nice of the Ukranians to pay tribute to the Two Ronnies when awarding their votes. please log in to view this image Or is it Biggins with Mrs Brown?
