I don't know whats happened at the club over the last two weeks, but something I think its fair to say has. I can't remember Bruce hugging a player when he's come off in a long long time, when we score its gone from 4 or 5 celebrating to mob adulation. I know yesterdays game had much more at stake and the occasion, for us and the club and for their share of the bonus, but something has changed, AT LAST and for the better. Please let it continue. Wednesday would have been thinking we can beat Hull City, they've got no chance of beating the Hull City who turned up yesterday.
Just to be clear I didn't cry when Hunberside was abolished! (I stick by my point though. Humberside makes more economic sense for us locally than Greater Lincolnshire/Yorkshire devolution...although I realise that may be slightly off topic !)
Looked like sheer relief to me. Time to be honest, few gave us a chance at Derby and I would wager even less by that score..myself included. That's not aimed to take the shine off things mind, but yesterday's performance has been such a long time coming many thought it had gone forever as we stuttered to fourth spot. Yesterday's scenes were reminiscent of Watford away in 2008 when Deano,Ash and Barmby ect reminded the whole football world Hull was more than rugby league. Yep,the club needed that win,it's been such a gut wrenching time lately we all blinked and forgot about those events and actually enjoyed watching City again.
There are certainly benefits from a larger region, but it'd need to be better than that previous shambles. I can see the merit of a combined approach to the Humber ports, but not a regional admin that includes the south bank.
It doesn't need to be one large administration Devo deals will keep local Councils but have them work together for transport, economic investment etc Not happening anyway as South Bank are joining Greater Lincs so it's academic
True. A fair number of key services, such as Police etc are already regional. It's issues like strategies for highways, planning, trade and tourism that'd benefit from a more regional approach. Not with that ****ing name though.
Kinell Bradford, letting down Yorkshire here. Us, Wednesday and Barnsley have put our opponents to the sword, and you've royally ****ed it up.
If Millwall get to Wembley and get beaten, will there be anything left regards seating for the next day…?
Looks like they'll be back playing league football next season, 2-0 up at Wembley v Forest Green. Good luck to them.
Chant of the day from Grimsby fans at Wembley... Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap Clap FISH !!
Two goals in about as many minutes just before half time means Grimsby look like being promoted. I'll not mention them coming just as I said it looks like it'll go to penalties.
