for invading the pitch in celebration on Wednesday night. They've been charged and will appear in court soon and could be banned from matches. I'm just wondering what some of your views are on that. Personally I think it's bloody ludicrous and way over the top! Burnley, Bristol Rovers, etc, wouldn't have any fans left after their pitch invasions, when they confirmed their promotions.
Just hi jinx. No harm done. Do they really just want sterile stadiums or numpties sitting their rattling their daft clacker things? Oh i say. Well done on a rather spiffing game. Tally Ho.
Another example of a lack of common sense in society. How much are those court cases going to cost when it's all totted up? Are they victimless crimes? Who got hurt? They'd just have got a clip round the ear years ago.
They said nowt when Man. City fans invaded the pitch after they'd won the title. Its there for all to see on u-tube, see from 2 mins. 55 secs.onwards. I couldn't blame City fans then, and I don't blame ours now. If there was no one hurt and no appreciable damage done, bol**cks to it.
The police have a tough job but they don't do themselves any favours with idiotic decisions to press charges in circumstances like this. It just comes across as petty-minded and vindictive. How many on here have been on the pitch?
Boro invaded the pitch last Saturday and nothings been said. Its disgraceful for our fans to be punished like this!
I remember quite clearly. I think it was 1983. We beat Brighton 3-0 last game of the season to stay up. Jimmy Case was being a right **** all game. I got pissed as **** in the kings head Stanley that night. It's a swingers club now.
We certainly had the best home support in the league, during the second half of the season. For the club to prosecute the fans for basically not being able to contain their excitement after the rollercoaster season we have had is ridiculous. However, the tool that ran onto the pitch during the game and hadn't worked out his strategy of how to take pants off, should be banned...
Aye. Everybody chucks their keys in a bag & then pull a set out & you swap partners with them. It's a lucky dip like. Imagine if you pulled out your own? "Oh no, not her again."
The club don't prosecute anyone..That is the job of the police and the courts... Personally I hate the pitch invasions as it spoils the after match celebrations for the majority. Having said that, it should never go as far as the courts. There have been numerous after match pitch invasions in recent weeks with nothing said about them and certainly no prosecutions..
Well all the clubs have to be done where it happened, but that will be far too much trouble and work for the law and I reckon their cases will be dropped. The bloke who came on earlier with his trousers around his feet, now that is a different matter. It is all bullcrap to me, the slightest thing now. They should have waited for the walk round the pitch.
Yeh, maybe they should have. It just seems a very heavy handed response picking on a few blokes when thouands have done it over the last couple of weekends.
The club could have anticipated it and managed it properly; could have made a real party out of it. I suppose there's always one or two who'll overstep the mark if they do that though.
The lap of honour by Big Sam and the team was excellent, once the few idiots were cleared off the pitch..
