I'll be checking what the bookies will offer on the mags not getting promoted next season.

    Might be worth a tenner!

With these new tv deals, each year we stay up and the mags stay down, the increasing financial gap in our Balance Sheets is going to be huge.

I haven't checked it out but my impression is that teams don't bounce back up straightaway like they used to years ago, and the longer they leave it, the harder it gets.

Personally, I'll miss them. I love those big derby days.

I'm sure we have a couple of times. My impression is that it's getting harder to do so though.

Edit: Just checked last season who went down. Hull, Burnley and QPR. I could be wrong about last year though, with 1 definitely up , possibly 2.

I honestly believe Rafa will stay with them. He sounds like he wants to and listening to his last interview, as angling at making sure he gets a decent budget for next season. If Mike Ashley gives him money to spend, I believe he'll stay and they'll bounce back at the first attempt. I had a look right through the Championship yesterday and it looks weak to me at the moment with quite a few clubs going through troubled times. The big names likes Leeds, Blackburn, Forest, won't be anywhere near the top of the Championship next season.

Parachute payment amounts for teams being relegated is also going up every season, this is only going to widen the gap between Premier League and the Championship. I think moving forwards it is likely we will see more teams that are relegated, bouncing back at the first attempt.

I think there will always be at least one now. Same as there will always be one newly promoted side gets relegated. At least.

I was baffled when Rafa went there and I'd be really surprised if he stayed, assuming he gets a better offer. Why you'd want to hang around with Mike Ashley in the Championship when you could be getting paid the same at a top side is beyond me. If he does stay he's a stranger guy than I thought.

Good to see you back mate.

This all depends on what offers Rafa actually gets. He might like to stay, but if a top job comes along...

Warnock is a successful manager at that level..Rafa on the other hand has no experience at that level..

I just can't see him staying. He's got his European-level reputation to think about.

Warnock might not be a bad-fit for the mags.

Oh who am I kidding? <laugh><laugh>

He did. But its been a while isn't it?

I've lost track of him since he's been in the lower leagues. I've no idea what he's up to now.
