Guidolin has seen him everyday in training since he has been here, if he had any faith in him then after the injury to Paloschi, Gomis would have been his starter. Clearly he has no faith in him as he moved Ayew from the wing to take over a striking role. Guidolin has more than made up his mind and there is no reason other than to have a last laugh at how poor he is to play him.
We still have a top half finish to aim for if stoke slip up so we must play our strongest side possible. i agree with trunds fully here. If ayew gets injured which is highly unlikely then he gets injured. he is paid a lot of money to play a full season if fit and as he is our best player up front then he has to play....Gomis is history with us now and i hope someone will take him off our hands but he has not showered himself in glory this season to warrant a big club to come calling or a big transfer fee..
If Gomis is not going to be here next season pointless playing him. Would like to see Connor Roberts on the bench and Mcburnie if he is back.. It will be interesting to see Nordvelt because he is going to have to cope with some pressure without doubt. It could be Leon's last full game for us so would like him to start but bring Fulton on with plenty of the game left.
Leon should be captain in the absence of ash as i agree he wont get many games next season probably minor cup games. He should finish off his coaching badges now and become a staff member on the coaching staff....I bumped into Tate outside the club shop the other day so he is about the club....top man..
I guess we'll see who starts in the striker role tomorrow . If Guidolin picks Gomis , he's used to being gone over with a fine tooth comb over his starting 10 and subs , and told all the mistakes he makes , regardless of results . I wonder how Gomis does against the other guys with goals per minute ?
Unless you are comparing him with a striker it's a pointless comparison as his job is to find the back of the net.
Before the last two games when Ayew was our striker, and we had not a lot of service , Ayew had 2 goals in his past 18 games .
After the Liverpool game. I think Ayew was in the striker role .Regardless , how was Gomis's minutes per goal Compared to the others
Someone put up Paloschis , Siggy's and Ayew's per minute stat , I think it was Lefty , I would like to see Gomis's same stat . Guidolin will know the success that Gomis had at first here and will want to explore it . He will know Gomis had a streak at the end of last season running into a streak at the start of this season that together gave Gomis 9 goals in 10 games . He wouldn't walk past that without careful consideration .He wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't
Don't you think he will already have been doing that, don't you think he would have looked at his performances before he arrived, don't you think he woud have had all his stats to look at. Roof his mind would have been made up way before tomorrows game, I have no doubt if Paloschi was fit tomorrow, Giomis wouldn't even have made the bench. That careful consideration has already been done and if it hasn't then Guidolin really hasn't been doing his job, the fact that Gomis' appearances have been limited, would suggest his mind is made up.
So are you saying Guidolin should take a chance on Gomis and Palo as our leading strikers next season?
Unless Ayew and Siggy both leave , Paloschi will be our # 1 striker . And if he gets anywhere near the service that was available the last two games he will score 20 next season . I don't know or care if Gomis is around , Guidolin has to care . Scored last game , maybe Guidolin wants one more look at him is all I'm saying . Next think you know valley got me pegged as wanting him here . Giving Aussie a run for his money . And if you compare Gomis goals per minute , I don't thing it will be to far off our top scorers that much .not sure but suspect.
"Just because Gomis is in for Ayew , doesn't make it weakened" You can't mean that. Maybe my mind reading cabilities are out of whack again and you actually mean the opposite.
Please explain how you can say that, so he is better than Defoe, Lukaku, Giroud, Deeney, Igalo, Martial and many others. He will be nowhere near our no.1 striker next year and if he is we are in the ****.
Perfect timing . No player is a team . If you bothered to read the next post of mine I clarified about Fab and Gomis . I basically said the team I said is probably the strongest team we can muster , barring Gomis for Ayew , but it's not a weakened team . Why don't you fine tooth comb Guidolin ( like you do best ) , and follow someone else around for a while Aussie .
